I may just need to GIT GUD but thus far the control scheme of Celeste sort of aggravates me. Mainly I think I’m just having trouble grokking the pull trigger to wall climb bit. I find myself inadvertently wall-jumping.
yeah I’m only just playing it noncommittally now that it’s free and I also found the controls less immediately enjoyable than I expected
celeste is free?
It was free for a while on Epic Games, but it’s not anymore.
bollocks, i really need to keep up with what the gang at epic are doing
They offer 1–2 free games per week on their storefront. You just need to sign up for an account to claim the games. You do need to actively claim the free games each week, but you don’t need to buy anything or engage with Fortnite, etc.
I find leaving the launcher open to be helpful because I get a little pop-up prompt whenever new stuff is available.
I played Crystalis over the past week or so for the first time since I was young. I’ve always thought of it as my favorite NES game, if I had to choose just one.
The PS4 version on the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection seems to have a few minor bugs in its emulation, but nothing too serious. (The music sometimes cuts out or does not loop properly, and occasionally you get stuck moving in one direction for a few seconds.)
The earlier parts of the game seemed easier than I remembered, but the later parts seemed harder. I remember some segments taking me a long time before, and they might have this time as well if not for that rewind feature and already knowing basically what to do in the more confusing parts.
I still think this is a very good game, and the art style is as appealing as ever for me.
It’s my fav Zeldish of the era easily. Thanks Grandma you eyed my style like a pro after Battle of Olympus.
As discussed in a thread earlier this year I’m still finding emu and port play a little less than desirable since I want to do the God Slayer original JP translation w/out those top line of the lower menu hiccups.
brake early! There’s a flow you’ll pickup, eventually. And some cars communicate their traction better, than others.
Thanks! That was just a test lap. I actually came in 4th on this race.
been emulating some zelda
if you’re looking forward to this link’s awakening remake and you’ve not played a link between worlds, consider fixing this. it’s great! 60fps, brisk, fun, inventive zelda.
I think there is legit something up with the diagonals in Celeste as I get “off” inputs more frequently than I do in any other comparable game. The trigger to wall climb was initially a bit funky but after the first couple chapters I internalized it well enough.
I’ve also completed all eight chapters with all strawberries, b-sides and heart gotten in addition to finishing the first three b-sides, so it is probably fair to say that I like it.
I’m a bit self-conscious about the death counter though.
Fuck me it’s Desert Golfing all over again
super mega baseball 2 is good and I love the kind of games that have totally fake teams that you can customize
I just wish they had better player customization options!
super robot wars x is my first srw game, and it has the same problem that project x zone had: every battle has like 50+ participants and takes well over an hour, win or lose
come to think of it, they both have really great attack animations too
i accidentally got my brother into pokemon go and HE REALLY LIKES IT? he was talking about how his destiny/gta BROS play mobile games during downtime so i suggested a bunch, and then i was like WELL YOU CAN’T REALLY PLAY IT SITTING AROUND BUT…
hes now super into being a team mystic eugenics villian
