When you play Ep 1, I recommend trying it the way it was intended, only ever using the gravity gun (except one time you have to shoot a lock - there’s an achievement for this)
Having played on both it has a kinds of soothing rhythm on controller. You get used to it. I like it more than keyboard now
used save states to get through death egg on sonic 2 switch
I always painted all of my guns 100% Barbie Pink in Black Ops for this exact reason
also after a third go round i accept that i would rather watch a long play than play swtich panzer dragoon
Keep hearing this
what’s so bad about it?
I’d jump to Episode 2 first. Play Episode 1 after only if you’re not still not sick of HL2. It’s definitely the least interesting of the trilogy and also not necessary to play them in order to follow the story
Too many to list, here is the developer’s spreadsheet where they are cataloging all the issues reported by fans: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MPHB_aRPYzqNktBIEbnmQ1nMPlNi9TIfsSreSDmGQig/edit#gid=1120747282
shooting stuff more than anything else : - (
That’s a shame. I was kinda excited for that one
Sonic 2 Death Egg is such an all-timer
Unless you’re playing Sonic Jam easy mode, then you actually get some rings for it.
I played Sonic 3 today. Carnival Night Zone is the original survival horror. All that electricity and water, and the clown music :- (
The stage boss must be the most boring in any Sonic game. I actually got a time out waiting for him.
Sonic 2 is such a long game to unceremoniously lose all your accumulated lives in the space of 3 minutes in the final stage
It was already my brain poison but now I am going to have to think of every grocery run as “doing it for her.”
I played through the second half of the second mission in Deus Ex for a long time, about an hour too long actually as for whatever reason shooting the exploding barrels next to the generator did not blow it up so I went around trying other things for another hour or so before looking up a video and seeing that actually the exploding barrels should in fact blow it up as well. Hopefully the rest of the game is not as janky in a “the important things actually work” kind of way as that kinda sucked worse than anything in Human Revolution.
Ehhh fair warning but this is kind of part of Deus Ex’s charm. Truly emergent gameplay etc. Though in your case it’s an obvious glitch that shouldn’t have happened and probably only did because either you or an npc or something probably bumped the barrels and some point and they moved juuuuust far enough away to not actually blow up the generators.
But it really is a good game, I think, even today. You don’t always have to do the mission in the way the game tells you it will let you just kind of stumble your way through things and keep going. For instance, there is a story npc that you’re not supposed to be able to kill but players managed to find a way to do it anyway and the game still accounted for it without breaking the story or making it impossible to complete.
You just don’t see that kind of game really get made anymore (and for the reasons like you just described!) but we’ve lost something as a result and been poorer for it.
what is this? it looks like The Sentinel, but i can’t find a version that looks like this.
EDIT: nvm it seems to be Annwn: The Otherworld

i have finished edf: iron rain.
marginally better than insect armageddon, but still manages to misunderstand the central appeal of the franchise. it feels like an upscaled mobile game with its tiny levels, small hordes and a tedious grinding for multiple currencies that makes the familiar armor and weapon tedium in sandlot edf seem exhilarating. i think some of the set pieces are well executed, I enjoy some of the new enemy types, but you probably don’t need to bother with this. the prowl rider however rules and needs to be implemented into the next actual edf.
