I can't believe today was a good play (Games you played today)

Every damn time you mention this game I get hungry :hungary:

DQ Builders 2 continues to be a lot of warm cozy fun, even if the Switch port has some annoying framerate issues. building your main base is so much more rewarding since you get to go back there at the end of each chapter.

I don’t think they did any actual edits to the cutscenes. Just tweaks to the visual assets. Some sort of sharpening/contrast filter on the textures. upscaled textures. Certain textures were hand tweaked, etc.

But by and large, FF12 is simply a beautiful game. Even played straight from a PS2 in low res, its a great looking game.

Yet it felt more “morrowind” to me, than Oblivion did.

I keep taking these month-long breaks from Yakuza 0 and every time I come back me and the dragon of dojima learn an important lesson or two

Meanwhile I started playing botw in the last week and being in its Hyrule is my favorite thing and I kind of just want to live there.

Dark Souls Remastered: it took the better part of a day, but I finally managed to put Seath out of his misery. No, not really- I started second-guessing myself right around the Depths, then gave up after reaching Blighttown and getting annihilated.

I ground up to Silver III in Teamfight Tactics, got screwed back down to Silver IV with a run of three horrifically bad games where I finished 5th, 8th and 7th, then finished first with a really fun Elemental - Glacial 6 - Guardian build powered by an absolutely brutal triple-stacked Brand and some clever placement of a Zephyred Lissandra so that I could take out a triple-stacked Lucian in the head-to-head. Then capped it off with a really entertaining 4th place with a Pirate - Brawler 2 - Gunslinger 4 build.

I finished Just Cause 4 last night. Most of the bugs that people complained about on launch seem to have been fixed. The only ones I came across were the amusing kind that I like to see, such as this guy I found running around at one point:

As in JC3, the world is attractive and fun to mess around in. I found myself getting bogged down at times with the little stunts that they constantly prompt you to perform. The game is better if you don’t worry much about those, I think, though some are like little puzzles.

I didn’t care much for the parts in JC3 where you have to reach N points in an area with a time constraint, and there’s even more of that in JC4. The first time forces you to learn how to use your tools better, which I guess is not a bad thing, but it gets old quickly.

Other than the weather effects and a few other new things, JC4 is quite similar to JC3. If these games were not so ridiculous, the constant intentional and unintentional killing would probably bother me more.

Still chipping away at Hollow Knight and enjoying it. This game feels massive in a way I can’t remember too many others of its type being. Could just be poor memory.

i felt the same and it’s because everything is interwoven and there’s a million secret rooms that are all pretty different looking from each other and also i have poor memory

it’s weird because i don’t think hollow knight is one of the best games of all time, but, i think it’s really good, and i can’t stop thinking about The Lore, and i’m gonna start crying just thinking about it now, and,

I also appreciate that the game has some whimsical as hell vocalizations for the enemies and characters.
