halberd’s when you can’t decide what kind of weapon you want so you mash them all together.

A halberd is always, by definition, axe + spear + hook

Still sounds like a long axe.

Today i played Sacrifices Must be Made and Dear Substance of Kin.

The first being a simple card game was interesting, creepy and short, glad to finish a card game thing while i cannot even understrand Uno.

Dear Substance of Kin was more complicate, i didn’t even khew how to do the surgeries, and what i was doing, just thowing parts of viscera of people in a cauldron, i got more confused. but it had a really curious world, remind me of Fear & Hunger all the sacrifice stuff thing.

what is this, day 6? 7? 8? of attempts

I was playing and did a thing and I broke it

the game stopped taking input from all sources

the game broke me

there are no winners in this journey, only the desiccated corpses and bleached bones dotting the trail serving as a warning to others should they not heed my tale

also I played Guardian Heroes. it’s 5 bucks and it works on the Xbone and I can press buttons and things actually happen instead of my fevered screaming of inputs falling into a dark, endless void only to come shooting back out as shard of failure, piercing my very soul

tomorrow is another day, another chance to fall down the mountain

I followed this guide and now my Megadrive Mini looks like this:

I have notes.

Sonic 3 (U) has region locking (!) and I had to just set it’s region to USA in the exe. Sonic 3 also has some lag so probably want to set it to retroarch. Same for Panorama Cotton.
Following the guide before I tried it I needed to go back to view and show default games. I them had to put in dates for the games I added to make them more organized.

There is also the project Lunar which seems to be the exact same thing? Maybe it has a better cover/metadata filler.

32x with picodrive works but it is not smooth. Tried Virtua Fighter (great), Chaotix (slightly sluggish), and Space Harrier (frame drops).

I found out .md files are just renamed .bin files for easier sorting.

Edging closer to just buying one of y’all a genesis mini so you can send me the 3button.

The first 10 games I added for reference:
Heavy Nova
Ranger X
Ecco
Rocket Knight Adventures
Gaiares
Gauntlet IV
Herzog Zwei
John Madden 93
Crusader of Centy
Jurassic Park

Should waste 8mbs on Bad Apple.

Getting Bare Knuckle 3 instead of Streets of Rage is a pro choice, better color palette. (Edit: Just noticed it’s a JP Mini, nevermind! Cool)

Have you tried any Sega CD games yet? I haven’t bothered setting up any of the retroarch stuff but I’ve added as much Genesis stuff as I can. The only two I’ve found issues with so far are Piers Solar (doesn’t work, period), and TMNT Hyperstone Heist (no audio).

The first ones I added:

Shining Force 2
Crusader of Centy
Pulseman
Rocket Knight Adventures
Ristar
Alien Soldier
Battle Golfer Yui
NFL '94 with Joe Montana
Greatest Heavyweights
Rent A Hero

CD games involve USB sticks and that is work. I also downloaded a complete CD set a few years ago and have spent maybe 2 hours with it.

That explains why the video said use retroarch for Hyperstone (works great that way BTW.)

Just noticed glitches in Sonic 1 (with the official Genesis Mini rom even hmm.)

Fun to see you patching the same holes as I am. Hatchi apparently came built in with Aladdin, Marble Madness, and Puyo Puyo? Or is this the source of the rumor that these games were on the system from the getgo but inaccessible?

Mail me one of your three buttons.

I’m not sure about the Hatchi stuff but I definitely had to add Aladdin separately.

Are the controllers cross compatible? Do you want to trade a 6 for a 3?

I’m in no position to be judging anyone’s tastes but

c’mon

c’mooooon

this is the part of the post where I reveal that I’m the only person alive to like Rampage Edition

Update from watching more videos: Project Lunar is the best if you just want games on the the mini. Unforunately some games just don’t work with the m2 emulator. You could boot into retroarch if you want. Lunar can easily pull great art work and descriptions of every game.

Hackchi lets you shove roms into the Mini’s OS and those roms can be pointed to launch with Retroarch. You have to do your own descriptions and boxart and the spine builder can’t just pull the actual spine it has to make one from a template and a clear logo.

This will probably be cleared up in like two weeks.

Moonside is overrated. Once you reach the pyramid south of Scaraba, I’m basically ready for random encounters to be over, which is a big part of the reason Dungeon Man is so onerous (the other parts of the reason being the music and the fact that you have to do it twice). The Lumine Hall cave and the base beneath Stonehenge are in a competition for “worst dungeon in the game (if you ignore the dungeon’s boss/climax)”, but they both lose to the Sea of Eden.
