also worth noting that you can swing your whip a lot faster than you’d expect while standing. i forget the exact frames off the top of my head, but once the whip is fully extended, you can swing again almost immediately
Infernium is a joke about the dark souls of pac man that fully, spectacularly commits to the bit
It is utterly baffling
every stage has a bunch of secrets and two exits, so you’re only going to see about half the game in one playthrough
the regular version of stage 2 you can rescue maria and she’s the easy mode, plays quite a bit differently
rondo fuckin’ rules, i might play some later
OK, I just unlocked Maria and I get it now. She is SO much more fun to play! I love her wild variety of special weapons. Her doves are a much more forgiving and satisfying weapon than the whip.
And I finally know where Diplo’s avatar came from!
actually I haven’t played rondo in years, is there anything I might’ve forgotten about PC engine emulation in a decade or do I just grab a rom and the right retroarch core and go to town
for the cd stuff you need a bios, that’s about it
MGSV has been eating a bunch of my time too over the month. I kinda suspect the PC walk move speed is why sneaking suits can be gotten so quickly, since they eliminate your crouch walk noise. Though the question remains why they just didn’t make ctrl walking faster in the first place. Though once you can get the speed boost to your crawl that works nicely to close in on dudes too.
Had a strange craving for DOA last night so I decided to download DOA6 Core Fighters and I’m ashamed to say I think this one of the best feeling fast and fluid fighters I’ve played in a while (but I am also a terrible casual at fighting games)
didn’t lose a life in castlevania iv until i reached this bullshit, and lost all of them. (you can walk onto the green platforms, but they flip and drop you when you land on them from above)
also an odd thing happened today: was talking to a friend, who is only 17, and they mentioned they’d watched the netflix castlevania cartoon recently. the odd thing is that they had no idea that it was based on a series of games, they just thought it was an original work, i guess?
120%'d Spyro 1 on the remaster, one of my biggest complaints was that all the gems looked the same aside from color.
Turns out they didn’t change the shape until Spyro 2!
innovations
i played judgement
it has fighting vipers!
is there a fucking “at ease” button? I like the hangout-ness of motherbase. I like that my dudes look up to me in a cute way. I wish I could actually respond instead of being a silent cold old man.
yes I know this game is about killing people
it’s funny how you can tell a kojima game instantaneously from the colour palette
I think the rank scoring is all to do with speed if I remember right
