oh my god my site is actually done?? I thought for sure one of the sections was a 404, but no, I did actually finish it. What the hell.

Anyway fully updated with a bunch of links to every single thing I can remember doing

FAKE EDIT: oh right I remember, the Minecraft page is a 404. Well, whatever, everything else is working!!

REAL EDIT: Okay I put a placeholder page and an under construction blinkie, this thing is done for now

Yeah I’m a huge believer in sharing html and tools whenever reasonable, so I hope it helps!

I miss the animated logos web browsers used to have while they were processing. I think they were called “throbbers”.

I moved my personal blog writing from tumblr to substack earlier this year, but I don’t like how weird it feels to write a small update on substack. So I moved it back to tumblr yesterday. But now I am thinking that I don’t like how a tumblr blog isn’t very searchable, or how the best way to see all of its content is through the ugly archive page. I would much rather have a simple landing page that display all the small blog posts I’ve written, allowing a visitor to just click on them and go.

I bet I could do this pretty easily in neocities, right? I like the simple look of a lot of these. All I want is really just a portfolio page with room for little posts that announce an update here or there. I don’t care about comments or discoverability.

Yeah! Hell, you could even use something like Zonelets which is very popular on Neocities if you don’t want to have to code anything

It’s tempting to write it myself, but given some time constraints I’m under with other projects going the zonelets route is probably smarter. Hmmm…!

Edit: okay! this is my project for the evening

Yesssss, I have created my own zonelets neocities website with a custom domain. This is very cool.

Now I just need cool, legible fonts that aren’t super large. A computer-y font would be good.

Julie just walked in and was visibly disgusted once she recognized that I had created a new personal webpage. Not sure how sold I am on the colors yet, but that’s the advantage of CSS, I guess. I should make a section for links to y’alls webpages too, huh?

i’m working on a ‘portfolio’ site at the moment and struggling to strike a balance between fast, lean, tidy and react framer-motion horror

We should all create 88x31 link images.

made a personal site with my OC. still very much a work in progress, but I managed to massage the CSS into something “mobile friendly” and there is at least one piece of content on it right now:
