Love the font, seems to work on my iPhone at the very least!
ported things over to using a static site generator (jankily (i.e. using it to build the site and then manually copying the files over lmao)), and managed to get embeds working
this is the kind of web design i’ve always enjoyed. simple, b+w, and readable font. reminds me of most portfolio sites cira 2006-2009. it’s still popular but it’s nice to see it implemented in a way that isn’t flat or full of transitions and shit that’s all the rage now.
pinging anyone interested in old digital cameras used in modern times
is that uh @yarusenai and @drastic_bb ?
from the photos page:
they’re working with a mavica??! hardcore. thanks for thinking of me — stoked to check this out a little more on my commute home!
I’ve also been shooting with some older digital cameras recently too, nice find
curious about the account structure of neocities.
- Are site names changeable?
- If you make more than one site are they treed under the same account?
- Can one email address have more than one site?
Site names are changeable! You can make many sites under one account, although i believe they share storage space. They all share the same email and you login to that, then switch to whatever site you’re editing.
awesome thank you! I have a bunch of dumb domain names I bought lying around I could use and I thought of making one of these and using it for that, but of course I am trigger shy about matching domain name to theme to neocities url haha. I may make a base one to test some stuff with, then branch out
Just remembered that some years back I made a mirror of my old Die by the Sword PC game modding page after GeoCities went uh away or whatever. I THINK it was on GeoCities. One of those.
Kobolds are Cute =) – that was the name of the page : P
Stuff about swapping in characters and adding textures, mostly for playing as different characters in the game’s arena mode. ^ ^_ ^
Anyway I had some fun with the game back in the day. Flail around with the mouse and maybe limbs go flying! : D
It’s on GOG with the expansion, Limb from Limb… Sure looks about as clunky as I remember! ^ ^_ Maybe one best left to the memory? Anyway, good dark fantasy style to it.
Here’s a good resource for anyone who wants to bring their home page to the next level:
want to redesign my website hmm. give it more of a blog functionality.
i stole a design from someone else and have been tweaking it for the past week or so to my liking, and I think it’s pretty functional now. the main page will host the most recent blog, and when i have a new one to put there i’ll port what’s currently up into its own page and put it in the blog archive. all that’s there now is an archived post i wrote here about my feelings on quake monsters, just to hold onto what i thought of them once at one point, so i can see if that changes.
I dunno how many of the neocities-heads here used 123Guestbook, but just in case I’m gonna repeat what I’ve said elsewhere: They are closing down very soon
On Saturday, June 1, 123Guestbook will be turning read-only, and July 1 it will be going offline. This means two things:
-
Without a proper UTC timestamp for the shutdown, we can only assume that today is the last full day to sign guestbooks.
-
You will have one month to download and preserve your guestbooks for posterity’s sake.
If you have your own guestbook on this site, please let me know.
(This is pushing my ever so slightly towards the option of “starting my own little forum.”)
(p.s. sign my guestbook sign my guestbook sign my guestbook)
