this is a good time to mention that I watched the original 101 Dalmatians on D+ a few weeks ago. I was used to watching it on my weathered VHS as a kid, so to see it in glorious HD just made me realize how unbelievably gorgeous it is. it’s my favorite Disney movie

Sleeping Beauty and Dalmatians were made back to back and it was incredibly strong era for Disney, IMO. Both have fun touches In the writing and great animation.
Dalmatians has an almost anime-esque: how cheap can we make this and still have it look ok approach to animation.

Man I don’t mess with most this live action super stuff, so I just found out Nuke shows up in the Netflix Daredevil but doesn’t even have the American flag face thing. Boo.
In a weird bit of auteur theory, Snyder fucking loves covers. As I recall, the entire Sucker Punch soundtrack was covers, including a cover of a cover.
Hilariously, he did not use a cover of Hallelujah in Watchmen, but also seemed to understand it is about sad sex. But that movie did include My Chemical Romance covering Desolation Row, so he still got some in there.
