very cool ā€œhot couch guyā€ reference in this review

I think he’s regarded as having coined it

oh really? damn the one chapo thing i know about turns out to not even really be from chapo

a very good argument for not requiring your aesthetic values and your political values to overlap

(canadian bacon is still funny though)

Um, Felix is on Chapo.

It was almost hard to believe how bad this movie actually was

Yes, there’s a disturbed clown in that mirror, but he’s not alone — we’re standing right there beside him.

:musical_note: I’m loookin’ at the disturbed clown in the mirror :musical_note: :dongdance:

It was so bad I had to come right home and write ā€œmental illnessā€ in my journal in a real fucked up font and take a nap

I like it. It was alright. Thought it had the right tone throughout the whole thing.

I don’t think it ever makes mental illness as an excuse. It uses it as like a label man.

On this note they are in movie poverty and want to know how they got two TVs, a VCR, and a bunch of blank tapes.

it’s a high schooler whose into serial killers cartoon idea of mental illness. and a parody of taking comic book material super seriously.

it’s not even like it’s mentally ill loners shooting up places in real life it’s white supremacists and misogynists hyping each other up for murder in chat rooms until one of them finally has a bad enough day to go through with it

I think the only dangerous thing about the movie is all the michael moores who are going to watch it and think they got some kind of glimpse into MaDnEsS. joker even says ā€œwhat happened to civility.ā€ it’s not an incel movie, it’s a movie for ā€œantifa is just as bad as nazisā€ ā€œwe’re so divided nowā€ centrists to watch and pat themselves on the back and think they got some insight into mass shooters.

also what was with the whole super rat thing in the movie. the part where the waynes get offed I was more distracted by the rat as big as a dog scurrying in the background.

there’s a few moments where instead of some edgelord’s idea of iNsAniTy, joaquin does come across as the kind of social inept oddball being weird in public you might get a bad feeling from, or just feel bad for while trying to avoid, and I found the color palette of his joker outfit pleasing
