spent 67 hours on wonderful everyday getting to all the endings. there’s no way i can really write about it meaningfully. i don’t have the capacity. several literary and philosophical references that seem like they tie in with the theming but unfortunately i’m not well-read. lots of stuff that feels awful or embarassing or bad but the ambitions seem huge and it sometimes lands really hard but it kinda just leaves me feeling empty which is maybe good. can i stay coherent about this?

feeling tired because it kept colliding with that awful instinct that somehow reading/watching terrible things is a moral failure on my part, but also, i can’t leave something like this half done, especially when there’s such vivid descriptions like two angels fighting each other so brutally their intestines intertwine as they crash to the ground. i don’t know why thats important i just keep thinking about that specifically. that whole scene was incredible. i’m so tired

Played some Warframe and got myself squared away to build Voruna. Her parts are in production, and she should be built by the time my next 4-day weekend rolls around.

Currently figuring out what I want to swap her 4 out for. A single target skill that chains up to 5 times and needs kills and status effects to increase its damage is not an especially appealing ability even if it looks-as the kids might say-sick as fuck.

Does mean losing one of her swappable passives, but I think I can probably live without a free resurrection once every 60 seconds.

not if you lose your resurrection and die!!!

I played through the four parallel stories of Dark Savior. This game is truly audacious, sickos-only, and beautifully grotesque. If I did not have access to save states I think I would have lost my mind. There is a mine cart section that just terrifies me when I think of trying to get through it all without being able to give myself checkpoints. It has 4-direction, isometric platforming. One of the trickiest sections involves walking left on a narrow beam, rather than diagonally. The game loves to hide things behind foreground scenery.

Despite coming out at the height of fighting game fever, the battle system plays more like Urban Champion than anything else.

I’m a little afraid of talking too much about the game because it is such a surprising and unique thing, so I’ll just post some screenshots instead.

Started playing both DUST and ETERNAL CYLINDER

DUST is an ancient furry indie game, and it seems pretty fun so far! It’s a metroidvania I think, mised with a brawler. The fighting is a lot of fun so far. I’m barely into it but yes, quite fun so far.

ETERNAL CYLINDER got off to wrong start because a) I could barely read the text on the screen and 2) I was confused by some early tasks but once I got into it, I really got into it. Feels like what I wanted Munch’s Odyssey to be from when I read about it in magazines, with a bit of a Majora’s Mask vibe going on too. Keen to play more

I did! Except for five which I hear is just a tournament mode . I think multiple playthroughs are really necessary to feel the heart of the whole thing.

I lose the freebie, but I still have like 6 more lives to go and generally die once-per-x-missions anymore so I reckon I’ll be fine. Besides, I was probably gonna use her passive that gives her 100% heavy attack efficiency and status effect immunity instead.

Got around to watching Top Gun: Maverick and kinda have an itch to play Ace Combat 7 again. Or maybe Project Wingman.

In Cardfight Vanguard Dear Days, I am learning two main morals: 1) you should be fighting for yourself and not for the sake of others, and 2) we should strive to create a world where we communicate through fights rather than words. Very cool. :bbcool:

Also I pulled the once in a blue moon gimmick strat with my deck and boosted my units’ attack power from the typical 13,000 range to 4+ million. It felt very satisfying.

I just played through Crimzon Clover: World Explosion on my new-ish “QHD” monitor that can rotate to a vertical position. I tried to take a few screenshots, but that’s not easy while playing and none of them came out quite as nice as I’d like. I’ll try again next run.

At this point I guess I play this more often than any other shooter outside the R-Type series, and I never tire of it. Few things are as satisfying as Double Break Mode.
