thisis a screenshot of Mr Do
the arcade game series are almost always on sale for incredibly cheap
Man I wish they would do the Do!
this is actually an incredibly obscure injoke from yesterday in a discord server where we were watching a video of “top arcade games” or something and they had labeled Dig Dug as Mr Do
Mr. Do was inspired by Dig Dug, according to Wikipedia, citing a habit by developer Universal of eh taking direct inspiration from other companies’ games Mr. Do! - Wikipedia
Mr. Do was ported to Wii Virtual Console in 2010 but nothing since, and never been on a PS console. Really want it to come out on PS4. : P This may be based almost entirely on vague nostalgic recollections of playing the C64 version as a tad.
Universal was bought by Aruze in 2005 who changed their name to Universal in 2009. But Aruze as old SNK fans will know is kinda just a scummy gambling machine company and they probably just don’t really care about doing anything with the old non-gambling games. No Universal games have come out on Arcade Archives.
I played the C64 version of Mr. Do all the time as a kid. I still prefer it to the arcade version. Mr. Do’s Castle was fun, too.
refuse to believe that mr do did not spring forth full-bodied from the forehead of zeus. in the beginning was the mr deed.
Dropped back into Forza Horizon 5 because a friend streams it and I play in their same lobby while they stream along, which is really fun except FH5’s handling model fucking sucks, the meta fucking sucks, the tuning parts system fucking sucks. It punishes you if you know how to drive and how cars work, and gaslights you into feeling like a worse driver. The best cars have all their points dumped into as much power as possible, and the tracks are best for cars with a lot of power. It’s just a miserable time every single race. I remembered why I rage-uninstalled this game months ago and haven’t touched it since. Dogwater
Now that I’m in my 30’s, I’ve decided to face facts and reckon with the truth that deep down, I’m a sonic fan. It’s undeniable. I got back into anime too.
I just gotta be me!
so far i’ve realized a lot of things i denied about myself in my 30’s
it’s been a good 5 years
sonic fan 4 lyfe, welcome to the next level
used the skip in Yahar’gul, got disorientated and ran the wrong way back to the beginning, died. went back to retrieve the echos, figured “why not” at the plaza, hid in the One Reborn’s legs with a flaming sword and stunlocked it?? this is the third mushy boss (Rom, Celestial Emissary) that’s felt less like facing an intentful adversary and more like carefully tending to a slightly-too-large bonfire that might collapse at any moment
went back to Darkbeast Paarl, that was a fun fight of positioning and dodges. skilfully sidestepping every swipe of a three-hit combo on a tiny sliver of health, healing, immediately getting put on my complacent arse as I back into a tree
Right when I set mine up I might actually give emulation a real whirl because it seems so good for it
deep down, I’m not a sonic fan
but I am a skunny fan
and I’m not afraid to talk about it anymore.
Yes, Skunny is an objectively terrible series, but we’re cool with loving objectively terrible mascot platformers, right? I love skunny.
He looks like a xerox of a xerox, repeated so many times that the shapes bleed together and you are left with a feeling somewhere between disappointment and Weltschmerz.
Skunny sounds like the most vulgar word in the English language
Diofield Chronicle is mediocre, I ended up loving the detached tone and unorthodox storytelling but the battle system only manages to be interesting for about two hours
I realized the main character was a stone cold Delita bastard pretty fast though I did not expect the game to go that far at the end
I do like that mid Square RPG market saturation thing happening nowadays, it feels like 1996
Rondo of Blood -as a therapeutic alternative to Nioh’s grind for shotgun tonfas while under-levelled- has not helped my Anger Management Issues, but at least the music is better
