Typing of the dead overkill is what happens when “liking stuff from quentin tarantino films” is a replacement for a personality.

Overkill was alright, but what we really wanted was that House of the Dead dating game.

the principal criticism that can be leveled against mr. kaufman is that he’s incredibly technical and prolific, but it feels so formal, so on-the-nose that his work doesn’t quite inspire the feelings it seems designed to. maybe this only applies to people who hyper-analyze music, but there’s always been something missing from virt’s work. this is not to say that i don’t find him an absolute master at his craft; he definitely is and has been for a long time. he’s a big influence on me, personally. i just find some of his stuff a bit… soulless? that word is too harsh, probably, but it’s a matter of degree.

i still play destiny and it’s pretty damn nice in short bursts

the sb raid crew is always short a person or two whenever we try to get a weekly raid together, so don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’d like to play the raids~

nah, I feel the same way

I’d put forward disasterpeace as a composer that’s similar to virt but has managed to get places that virt hasn’t emotionally imo

both of them actually started in the same prog-rock-y space and they were both doing chiptune too – disasterpeace has an album called rise of the obsidian interstellar that I recognize from the 8bitcollective days and I’d compare that to virt’s fx4, but he’s since gone on to do a lot of different styles

whereas virt’s stuff (even when it’s a different “genre”) still seems to go for virtuosity and complexity

virt can fucking SHRED tho holy shit

Shit Trip is cloying. Go see It Follows.

The only Choice Provisions (formerly known as “Gaijin Games”) game that is worthwhile is Tharsis.

So wait, are those Shantae games legit? Cause I was gonna hang onto my Risky’s Revenge code for trades, but then again Monster World IV

I’m gonna be a jerk and ask which Shantae y’all are talking about since Pirate’s Curse was the Humble Bundle game and someone said Half-Genie Hero, which notably isn’t out yet

Also it is a good game and I like it and I dig virt’s music for it even though I would agree with the criticism that it’s too clinical and also let me tell you the good word about Ori and the Blind Forest

A while ago I played the first Shantae and found it to be horrendously difficult, but in unfair, oldschool ways.

Pirate’s Curse seems fairly easy but so help me if I don’t find this last cacklebat I will murder those around me (or: the game has devolved into me ramming every wall possible)

Seeing as I dropped 10 bucks into the bundle for this and having Freedom Planet on a non computer-sized box, I’m pretty satisfied

I mean I’m sure there’s plenty of small praiseworthy elements in there if you take for granted that the package as a whole is sort of bad/cynical, it’s just a matter of what those are
