Games You Played Today ##RELOAD

I’m still trying to find a way to articulate my feelings on Bayo2. It does have more things in it and is much more smoother to operate but there feels like there’s a certain playfullness to the mechanics that are missing from the first one. Bayo1 weapons felt much more distinct while it feels like there’s alot of overlap in Bayo2. Examples being how the dual swords and the dual chainsaws feel like they have nearly identical movesets except one lets you skate and the other doesn’t. Also looking at the hammer and the scythe have almost the same button press for their combos and the only difference being some changes in hitbox frequency and hitbox ranges. Bayo2 just feels a tad more clinical and kind of lets you get away with mashing instead of learning how to control the flow of matches like 1 did.

I’ll do this podcast under the condition that I’m the only person on it

I think I watched a two best friends play of this where it was literally an hour of them dying in the sarlacc pit in the first level

bungie should just make a racer with the hoverbikes from destiny already cause they feel awesome

Don’t worry, if there is anything we learned from Phantom Menace, it is that George Lucas might have (accidentally?) meant it to be that racist.

They did this already for a bit in Destiny and it was some pretty good fun.

enjoying the hell out of demons souls. not finding it to be as challenging as dark. definitely enjoying the comparatively janky amateurish aspects of it, gives it this charming late PS2 kinda vibe

yeah, as I’ve said a few times recently that was when the series still leaned toward being a dungeon crawler so they weren’t as focused on the encounter design to quite the same extent

has a nicely different vibe

I dunno, like I remember watching PM when it came out in theaters and just commenting on the weird racist stereotypes in the theater, like “why are the merchant guild (or whatever they were) weird Asian stereotypes?” “why is Jar Jar and his whole race just a weird version of Caribbean peoples?” “why is that one desert merchant like a bunch of half formed bad Jewish stereotypes?” and so on. I didn’t draw the Stepin Fetchit comparison, but there was still a lot of noticeable drawing on racist stereotypes going on.

Does this mean the movie (or its makers) are racist? I don’t really care. It’s still just trading in a lot of really clear negative racial stereotypes, so the net effect is kinda the same.

Can we get a no phantom menace threads moratorium.

Their accents, their physical weakness compensated for with robots and waging economic warfare against the Republic.

nute gunray has a pretty stereotypically asian accent which is generally one of the easier ways to make fun of asian people

edit: star wars thread let’s go
