There’s a mode where you just try to take over the whole map and there’s no other missions and you game over when you die.
The lame part is that you have to unlock the later maps through the single player, but really, you can probably call it good after you finish the first one.
I loved the dickens out of JC3 and SR4 after not really being able to get into earlier instalments, so if SR4 didn’t do much for you, feel free to disregard my endorsements
I’ve been waiting for like ever for Soma to get more than 5 bucks off, but I need a break from playing pirate in AC4 so I just bought it for the full $30 price.
Played it for a couple hours. It sure is real fuckin good! Why doesn’t anyone around here talk about this game? Except Ronnoc that one time, to spoil it. It’s an adventure game with the practical fixing-shit focus that I love. Made for me, this is.
I bought SoM recently because I bought a new graphics card and want to watch my computer do New Things (I also bought the new card specifically for nu DOOM). I’ll share if I also hate my life after playing it. It looks like an Assassin’s Creed clone with a LotR skin (sans the LotR anti-revenge themes lol), so I’m hardly surprised it’s a shallow, life-draining experience.
the dropped frames make this kind of unbearable to watch, but the soundtrack is the thing that actually makes this game. if you play this game with any other soundtrack you’ve made a mistake
People should talk more about SOMA. It’s excellent. I bought it on Steam and then again on PS4. Both times during sales, so I basically paid the equivalent of full price.
Playin’ that Diablo because there’s a new season so why not. Rolled a witch doctor because I’ve never really played them before and I’ve gotten absurdly lucky as I’m farming torment 7 within a few hours of hitting 70. Truly, RNGesus has smiled upon me this season.
Speaking of Diablo(likes) I’ve been playing Grim Dawn since yesterday and it’s pushing all the right buttons for me. Easily my favorite not-Diablo in a long while.
One of the things I like best so far is finding different kinds of enemies attacking each other and just sitting back while they destroy themselves. I don’t think I’ve seen that in a hack n’ slash before?
In all seriousness, you know what would have been great? If the game didn’t have any text. All the ESOL-tier writing did was make me feel like there was A Point To Get. Fuck that. I mean, Braid was a cool game and I like it and I had fun playing it, but fuck that game.
yeah I kind of feel like all the text/dialogue in Jonathon Blow games makes me think of a curator’s statement next to an artwork in a gallery. Trying to take something that is sufficiently fine in evoking a sense of feeling or meaning and recontextualising it with wanky arty gibberish to make it seem more like ‘Proper Art’
So I finished Furi on the default difficulty, started it on furier difficulty (hard mode), got a hidden halfway through ending and had to restart, beat it on hard mode with an overall A rating, decided to try the speedrun mode, beat it with no deaths and 3 KOs in like 53 or 56 minutes.
On replays, the walking is absolute hell. I think I am good enough to get a S rating on normal difficulty but not sure I want to step back outside of speedrun mode and endure about twenty to thirty minutes of walking in what is now a sixty minute game.
This is unquestionably a great game in my mind, but this is also now a borderline unforgivable flaw. If it gets a patch they need to give you an option to skip it once you’ve finished the game one time.
