After watching a head-to-head Zelda 3 / Metroid III (+ randomized item locations) match, and realizing that there’s probably about 30% of Super Metroid I’ve never explored, I decided to go through it again. This time around, I finally managed to perform the Brinstar pit sequence break for the first time, which I’m super-proud of. It had been my white whale the last few times I’d gone through the game, and going through it and consequently having to rethink the way I traverse Zebes is making me really excited about the game again.
I’ve also picked up Life is Strange again, after giving up on it almost a year ago. I finished the second episode, and eeehh… I still prefer Dreamfall Chapters, as far as adventure games released in 2015 where the choices totally matter go. Strange is probably the better game, but I’m not exactly invested in the characters and goings-on, and if that’s the case at this point, it’s probably not going to ever be the case. I do want to finish it this time, though.
I will totally change my opinion about the game, though, if I get a screenshot comparable to this one from Chapters:

I was gone for work last week while waiting for obsidian to patch pillars 2 and they did that while I was gone but I’m having a little trouble jumping back in with the same enthusiasm now that I’m already at the 30 hour mark and I think I still have ~30% to go.
