Trackmania probably. It’s not aesthetically bright but if you want to send cars flying through absurd tracks it’s the only game in town.

Something about 3 which makes its combat exciting, is that it is possible to kill wanzer pilots and hijack their wanders.
So A. You can get whole wanzers worth of parts.
B. If your wanzer is disabled in a long combat, you might be able to hop into an enemy wanzer and use it to finish the battle!
I have been eaning to play Front Mission 5. Have all files ready. But I have been watching movies and TV shows instead…

free windows 10 forza is honestly really generous if anyone forgot about it, @Father.Torque you should grab it on that new machine, it’s the only sim like that that I think I’ve touched since like PS1 Gran Turismo and I really like it
the video settings are kind of goofy though, it wants to aggressively downsample itself to maintain performance depending on the scene which is all well and good on a TV and it’s nice that console games can do that now but on a reasonably new PC GPU it can do like 100hz pretty handily with all of the settings on regular high rather than fuck-you high
yeah this was my experience when I spent like half an hour with it a year or so ago too
I’ve been playing a lot of wipeout pure on and off for the past couple years just because it emulates so nicely (PSP upscales like a dreamcast where none of the games are at all bothered about what their native output resolution theoretically was, and it’s not lofi or dithery enough in the first place to be losing anything at all from the upscaling)
From what I’ve heard I’d probably like Blood Dragon the most, yeah, because it’s got loads of 'tude. But I don’t know, I’m playing Primal right now and I’m really enjoying it. Of course I turned off search animations before I even started the game, so I don’t even know what they look like.
But the story is fun and the gameplay loop is as well.
Maybe it’s not going to be for long because the gathering and the crafting is going to get too much? But I like that it reminds me of Conan Exiles.

Don’t get me started on Forza on PC. I tried out the Horizon 3 demo and the game just wouldn’t load the world properly. It used to just halt the game and my car would look into an abyss of missing textures and polygons. Then it would load it after several seconds and I’d continue at high speed. Until it stopped again, shortly thereafter.
I don’t know if Forza 6 has the same problem but I’m not really interested in the Motorsport series. It was just Horizon 3 that really appealed to me

It does look pretty cool! I just don’t know if I would like the movement of the player character. Seems kinda stiff and unwieldy. Other than that though!
