i’ve been meaning to replay fallout for ages, what’s the optimal way to play it on a modern computer? is there some fancy source port or something these days?
The version on GOG worked well for me, can’t remember if I was on Win 7 or 10 at the time
Holy shit that font. Might I recommend Armodyne? A SRPG with a good soundtrack that I only know because Tim wouldn’t stop talking it up.
You could but the dialog trees are fantastic and options come from the Three Genders: Serious, Anime, and Asshole. Like nothing I have had to do in the game would be impossible without Japanese. You would get the spectacle. And that part is incredible. Like you hear heavenly choirs and go Oh Shit! Then uhh you run around episode 1 of NGE.
So far each chapter has had a different “monster”. If it continues that for 17 Chapters that’s unbelievable. I am contrasting this with ZZT3 which was super serious.
Ive been playing Digimon World DS and well
The mechanics are unrefined and the stats are wicked low so it always feels like your struggling to stay afloat (and i’ve even been grinding) and the evolution trees are so wack and the early game monster variety is super wack (you can collect two totally different mons and they both have the same root on the evo tree so its kinda pointless) and its nowhere near as good as the sequel games but hey it’s a pretty good monster collector, and its definitely better than Diamond and Pearl
have never heard of armodyne! looking at it, it’s some sort of SLG mecha game? that’s interesting sounding, i might hunt it down…
i’ve tried to play fallout a few times, but have never been able to. if there were a version where they let you use a controller and directly move your character, that’d be nice.
using a mouse to play games that aren’t turn-based is so awkward and unpleasant.
yeah I think the gog version is fine still, it does work in dosbox unlike the sequel if you want to play it on Mac
I just have the gog versions. and I have a widescreen patch for 2 but I think you have to set it up a certain way so it’s close to original resolution instead of everything being all scaled out and tiny. I can’t remember why I don’t have 1 setup that way, if they didn’t have as simple of a patch or if it wasn’t possible to keep it from making the game too small or what.
thanks, think i got it for free on gog at some point
I played that new Wipeout/F-Zero clone Redout. BUT it’s secretly a HyperDrive clone. That plays kind of like Extreme-G 1. I know about scifi racers. Anyways, the gimmick is basically Wipeout but you can control the pitch and roll of your craft (which the game just calls pitch for some reason.) It’s a good gimmick, but the game’s simplified graphics are not psychedelic enough, the music isn’t hype enough, and I never really figured out how to corner properly after an hour or so with the game. I don’t know if tracks are just built for the higher speed craft or if I’m just somehow very bad but it’s really not super fun tbh
The overworld in Zelda Oracle of Ages: what a chore!
Oracle of Seasons is worse
weird way of spelling better
Nah
Am I wrong but wasn’t Redout also the early PS3 sixaxis racing game?
It is not but wow would that make it even more of a Hyperdrive clone. Are you thinking of Gripshift?
Oh, I should point out that Redout is a very good name for a scifi racing game. It’s real good!
I think that was Fatal Inertia
I forget Fatal Inertia made it to PS3. That game is also bad but also has a very good name.
f-zero gx?
