Games You Played Today Classic Mini

Team Fight Tactics, it’s the League of Legends version of DotA Autochess.

Basically you have alternating rounds of drafting League Champions into your team with rounds of “combat” where you set up your team on a field to fight either AI monsters or teams set up by other players. Crucially, the battles are entirely AI, so you have to use your knowledge of what your team will do and your guesses as to what the other team will do in order to do initial placements and then your involvement is over.

It’s got just enough choice/RNG and doesn’t require the micro-action reflexes of an actual MOBA to be a brutal “just one more play” cocktail.

Sorry my eyes involuntarily rolled back into my head halfway through the second sentence

If you actually watched it being played you would shit yourself with rage.

if you were paying attention in October, Cuba, you’d have known that your game design consulting business for FY2019 would be based around warning people that it’s too late to copy this

are you gambling money or just playing for fun

Just for fun, I can’t imagine people putting real money on the line for that sort of thing.

Autochess is fine! I find the League variant lacking in uh explanation or UI (and a little too RNG heavy) but the base idea is solid. It’s like a decent board game or card drafting game that somehow got popular.

ive been trying to play the steam version of turok but I either get no video or no sound

autochess is the perfect tablet game and again, it is just the right amount of decision making to keep me from doing other more productive things like music

what if I told you streamers have been constantly been doing in-house matches, bo3, losers buy subs for the winner’s chat (often betting in 100s of subs)

I booted up Blazing Chrome and heard the voice samples and declared it GOTY

I know I dissed it earlier, but I actually have mixed feelings about the Daioujou port.
One small but wonderful thing is that they added back in the ‘no miss’ at the end of stages.

We are stg neophytes so we are just having a good time getting humbled by stage 1&2! What is the death label mode? I checked it out and it’s as crushing as playing iidx for the first time

We do not know how to do that, sorry! Come over we also have dj troopers and infinitas and a dao controller

It’s a boss rush mode. It’s ok.

I think the PS2 port is actually nicer then the arcade game for the first loop, if only for ‘no miss’ and being able to easily keep track of your high score.

What ship and doll are you using?
I usually use Type A and Leinyan which happens to be the best ship doll combo for Stage 1 & 2. Stage 3 and beyond it’s more of a toss up which doll is better. Stage 1 and 2 there’s little reason not to use the laser. Stage 3 has you switching back and forth between laser and shot. Beyond stage 3 it’s nice to have more bombs.

Are you using your bombs, or dying with bomb stock?
I’d recommend using your bombs. You can always learn to conserve them later on after you get used to clearing stage 1 and 2 with bombs. It took me a while before I got the hang of the stage 2 boss without bombs.
If you find you’re always dying with bomb stock you might try playing Exy to start with as the increased firepower might be more useful then bombs you aren’t using. You’re probably not going to want to play Exy when you start getting past stage 3, but she’s great for learning with.

Have fun!
