I assume you are playung this in a way but does the manual at least have a vague map maybe?
The PSN version does contain a scan of the original manual, but alas there is no map included
Iâm currently off on the blue arc and just incredibly chuffed at how silly deep this particular rabbit hole goes
right after they introduce you to something that feels almost like a hub they send you out on this crazy winding journey that you eventually stop thinking about how to return from
I loved the â90%â bit just then
Iâm back into RONIN running, this time with no upgrades. Thereâs a couple boss levels that have the guy/gal who must die in the middle of an arena with at least 5 other enemies, usually a tough situation made worse given that you only have a katana and rope skills. Then I stumbled on a use of my patented zipline-boot-in-ass technique for both locations that skips being spotted and having to fight in discrete time-steps (which is rather slow). Itâs easily less than an hour run which is like the perfect amount for me.
Iâll probably focus on this for awhile until I get a no-death run then move on to NG+. I dabbled in it earlier but disliked the increased RNG from randomized spawns to machine-gunners spraying their bullets. Thereâs a particularly notable early building that can be terrible to work through because of those two things.
Iâve encountered one invisible wall in over 24 hours of play, if you can see it you can basically stand on it
yeah and the balance of âwhoa whatâs this huge area over here all of a suddenâ to âhey hereâs an opportunity to try out my new toyâ to âcombing over an existing area for secretsâ is really good
and the level geometry is just joyous
the amount of programmer humour in there is sweet too just for how seldom you see that sort of thing nowadays but the guy is german so that kind of explains it
Finally beat Threads of Fate/Dewprism today after slowly poking at it all month. I like how the game has few animations per character but the ones that are there are really good and expressive. At the end of the game, they have you greet all of the townspeople again before rolling the credits, and I walked into the item shop. The clerk was at the back of the shop and tripped on his way to tell me that the shop wasnât open yet. Nice little touch for a moment of the game that few will ever see (because thereâs no reason to ever go back to that item shop once youâve beaten the final boss). Really, this entire game feels like a PS2 game in terms of its attention to detail, but with PS1 texture sizes and polygon counts. It is super charming.
replaying 3d dot game heroes, an overlooked from software title that manages to both be far more accessible yet far more obtuse than other game they were making around this time.
3D Dot Game Heroes was actually by Silicon Studio, who had mostly developed middleware up to that point. Since then theyâve made the Braveley Default series and several mobile games. Youâll still find their names at the beginning of a lot of Japanese games since their middleware seems popular with mid-budget Japanese games.
The game has a great soundtrack and I always liked the look, although I remember not finding the world quite as interesting as the games itâs evoking.
3d dot game heroes was actually developed by silicon studio (just published by From in Japan) who went on to develop the bravely default games for 3ds
i still wanna play it really bad!
3D Dot Game Heroes is a game without autosaves where I played the backhalf of the game died on the final hit of the final boss and realized I had not had a good time with the game ever. Replaying the past three hours would be torture.
There isnât even a continue option! You die they kick you to the title screen.
also worth noting how good the long low floaty triple jump is for a game with so much first person platforming
there are a ton of tricky design choices in here that must have been iterated on extensively
for some reason i really wanted to play black rock shooter on psp
im still not sure what it is
The OST by Manabu Namiki?
It always looked like a Weird Game so itâs probably worth checking out at least a little bit.
the video game
Oh sorry, I meant maybe you were attracted to it because it had a sick soundtrack by Manabu Namiki.
oh, no i barely notice it
Went to a friends impromptu birthday thing at one of the now 4-5 larger barcades around Orlando. Thankfully not another so touristy or overpriced like downtownâs Joysticks (which is like Pixels the movie the bar).
Appreciated the hype of their host guy throwing an MK11 tournament, where I got spanked (twice) so I grimaced bought Gremlins 2 and New Kids on the Block cardsâŚthen took solace in Beat Saber. For my first time, jumped straight to Expert and didâŚgood I guess when not constantly pausing-screwing up the sensor/tracking range.
Reaaally dug this extremely simple and addictive, kinda excitebiketurbotunnel game:
Video covers that and the famous Killer Queen, which has to be around here somewhere, already.
just finished the budapest mission and damn, the music fit the level so goddamn perfectly.
the transition to 4:48 was fantastic as you entered the pool area.
DQ2. Stuck at last boss. Murghhhhhhhh
