Games You Played Today: Actress Again: Current Code (Part 1)

How are the “enhanced” graphics in Halo 3? I heard 2 looks ok but that choosing the new graphics replaces the buttrock soundtrack for one scene which I cannot abide.

the 343 graphics in 1 and 2 are dogshit

I was disgusted with Reach but I heard the audio was fixed so I’m tempted to dip back in, loathe as i am to support 343 in any shape or fashion.

played the Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth update. streamlined episodic metrovania-lite on a lazy release schedule is a pretty great product delivery concept tbh

Started a new farm in Stardew Valley with a friend. They like the farming and foraging while I like the fishing and fighting so we make a great team. Both our first time in co-op.

It’s pretty crazy how good the living is when you take on complimentary tasks. The steady fishing income keeps feeding into farm growth. Planning on powering down to iron levels tonight. Should also get a big crop of strawberries so we can build our coop.

How do relationships with the NPCs work in co-op? Separate meters for each player? I guess I’m asking who’s handling PR for the farm

Wow I just got to play through River City Ransom thanks to that giant Techmo NES Collection. This first RCR/KunioKun is real special. Would be nice if I could access the Japanese roms on here. It looks like the same interface that the minis use. Which weird because I think this is just arksys and the Konami collections are M2 and those menus fucking suck.

Must be some passed around tech or M2 doing good outreach to get all these Famicom collections out there.

Oh yeah RCR is good and short (so much so I am confused why the secret shop exists outside of that’s cool.) excited to have an hour or two and try the other semi-open world games in the collectiob.

There is an expanded x68k J-only port of RCR that never received an equivalent release on/in any other platform or language. Also the PC Engine port has cool graphics.

I’m also playing ring fit adventure (bought it from a friend, but if anyone is looking to find it and not get ebay scalped, use nowinstock notifications and keep trying.)

I think it’s great! for a complete spud like me it’s been giving me pretty intense workouts in muscle groups I didn’t know I had and I has helped encourage me to pursue other forms of exercise too. I think it’s really a perfect thing if you want to exercise but really struggle with staying focused or disciplined about it. really has been a life saver for my physical and mental well-being.

As a Ringfit vet it’s been really heartening to see so many people checking it out. I feel like its hugely underrated despite how well it seems to have penetrated the market.

If anyone else has been checking it out I’d love to know if you feel there’s a point where you drop off or if it improves things drastically over time.

It’s really helped improve my mood over lockdown.

Starting to really dig the idea that there’s this smiling pleasant Stardew Valley farmer that everyone is friends with but he’s hiding a dark secret… his filthy homunculus brother who mines ore all day …

Crash bandicoot as a franchise is unbearable but I’ve found that I actually really like the first game!

It’s surprisingly rough, an escalating mountain of ridiculous challenges that sometimes almost leans into masocore. Since the game is a 3D platformer this means a lot of depth perception related challenges, which are widely reviled among Gamers but which I’ve grown less frustrated with as time goes on (Admittedly because no one would dare include 3D platforming sections without a double jump anymore, so they are a rare type of challenge nowadays) As the game is boxed and linear there are no camera issues and the difficulty feels very pure

I like the three steps to master a level, each with its own reward: 1) Just managing to beat the level 2) beating the level while breaking every box 3) beating a level fast and without dying. It’s a very satisfying curve! Kind of busted for more than half the game though because you can’t break every box in a level until you start completing some wild challenges available way later

Crash 2 is diluted, Crash 3 even more so, its levels are dull and empty and there’s an unwelcome gimmick level with a new vehicle every other level. Peak « here’s some shallow garbage for the sake of variety, enjoy »

I’m not sure. You get individual cutscenes with NPCs though. The other player can run around in your cutscene which I found amusing.

Ah, km answered. Good to know we will not be marrying the same person.
