I did it, it’s fine. The loading is bad. It’s been patched now and it’s really easy. It’s got cheat codes. Feels fucking good to see that font again and flap about on my switch though ngl
I cannot overstate how bad and misguided every step of Contra Rogue Corps is and I was a fool to buy it for 10 bucks. Streets of Rage 4 was right there.
Check it out this Panda is actually a Cyborg with a Human Brain but he still shits like a normal panda. Crazy right.
I can’t pause and there’s ingame currency and crafting?? 10 second (I timed) glory kills? Numbers showing how much damage I am doing and health bars!? Non stop fucking narration from my pilot character about how bad ass this all is? A fucking Dmc techno remix of Contra theme every time I get locked in a room and asked to kill waves of enemies that drop items? A fucking pvp mode??? Tutorials??
Look I am not joking this is an actual line of dialog.
Part of me wonders if Rogue Corps started out as a ‘cuhrazy’ mess or if development on it was frustrated and they rebranded as a kooky B-movie experience.
oh dang i didn’t even get there, I think
I kind of assumed that Curse of the Moon was going to be a Slight Object, which usually don’t have very high difficulty levels, but gosh that game was really well-tuned to a very specific level of difficulty that I find myself not caring about at all.
It really looks like it started out as like a 2009 era XBLA game, but then got told to add some modern stuff, so it got a season pass with some skins and weapons.
Right after I cancelled my Gamepass subscription they announced a few games I would really like to check out are coming to the service
Just when I thought I was out
Ah but I guess I can’t have the promotional rate anymore so nevermind I’m still out lol
The pvp mode for this game is apparently GUNSPORT and no one will ever play it.
i finally found a way to make fallout 4 playable! it turns out when you install mods to turn it into whats basically stalker clear sky with the total faction warfare mod and you spend the entire time getting into massive, grueling firefights where NPCs are dropping tactical nuke killstreaks on you and everybody dies in 3 hits its a pretty decent way to kill some time. i installed literally a hundred gun mods so i can run around shooting people in ODST armor with the halo 1 magnum while always packing a TEC-9 just in case
oh yeah and cuz i’m a loser i spent like, 2 hours making the hud look more like halo 3 odst too (yes i know it’s supposed to be more of a darker blue but fuck off it’s my OC she can make her hud color whatever she wants!!!)
real depression hours but we out here doing shit still!!
It would require 8 people owning it and being online at the same time and willing to play it, and no, that was never going to happen.
Eden Obscura is the mobile port/“upgrade” to Pixeljunk Eden and they chucked in all kinds of incoherent collectables and powerups and shit. All it serves to do is underline that the original game was pretty disposable outside of the Baiyon soundtrack.
The one cool trick this game has is that all the stage backgrounds use your phone’s camera, so whatever it’s pointing at is your background as interpreted through various geometric filters etc. I’m a little surprised I haven’t seen more games do something like that.
Then again I’m always frustrated that more mobile games don’t seem to do much with the hardware instead of just being regular ass videogames. I think casual games might do more of that kind of stuff.
I didn’t think about this rant too hard don’t @ me
the netflix anime adaptation Ethan Obscura.
minish cap continues to be pleasantly boring for the most part but it is clear that this game has a substantial influence on anodyne 2 in the same way that link’s awakening had a substantial influence on anodyne. kind of neat.
(this is not a recommendation to play minish cap if you liked anodyne 2, just that a lot of the basic mechanical and thematic ideas were pretty obviously cribbed from this game)
i loved the aesthetic of minish cap – it was kind of close to wind waker – but i hated the going mini schtick almost as much as i did having to turn into a goddamn wolf randomly.
Contractually obligated praise of the Gust Jar as one the best-utilized items in a Zelda game + wishing I had the skills/time/motivation to make a romhack of the game which only uses that item
I got like 3 hours into that Dead2y Premonition. I like York’s totally open outlook and open weirdness in the face of criticism. I’m fully hooked into this but I’m always waiting for the big misstep on race/age/gender.
This sure is THE DEEP SOUTH (jumps on skateboard).
this is kind of what anodyne 2 is lol
I feel like the gust jar is so underutilized in game tho. really cool idea but they don’t do anything that interesting with it.
the miniaturization gimmick never appealed to me but now that I’ve played most of the game I actually think the cool little environmental puzzles it allows for are one of the game’s highlights for me. and I love the close up miniature environments, like all the minish that live in bookshelves and stuff. that stuff is cool and good!
