I’m pretty sure the mod can do any layout you like. It can also run the same game on two monitors from a PC with the power to do so.
The console versions of Lost Planet 2 also do this aspect ratio stagger, it’s definitely an MT Framework thing.

i remember playing that entire game co-op with a friend on a tiny 720p drugstore-brand hdtv during summer 2009. i’ve never squinted so hard in my life
not if the girlfriend speaks french
this is such a romantic image
oh shit how many can this run
4 player doom deathmatch on a single screen hell yes
Original Xbox version of Doom 3, for the collector’s edition, had a port of Doom 1 and 2 that let you do this I think. I used it for co-op, which was a ton of fun.
Still so cool they made Sheva a lefty
keep wondering if i should buy the hentai FDS titles i see on eBay if only because eBay is going to ban them in a couple months…
Yeah, I hear the rain in Returnal feels really good on the DualSense in general, because of how you hear it and feel it with the vibrations! I was already surprised by the fidelity of different things in Astro’s.
My girlfriend got almost all collectibles in that today and I cleaned up the remaining 3 or so things. It’s really fun. I mean for me all the Playstation legacy stuff is really cool but it would have been great without all that too. It’s a good game.
Thanks for the French recommendation @Felix I’ll definitely play around with the different dubs. Just waiting for June 10th for Intergrade to drop
Anyone have any game recommendations for my girlfriend? I want to play Haven with her even though she’s not thaaat excited for it. But I’m mostly looking for games she can play alone when I’m asleep in the morning, so not necessarily couch co-op stuff.
Like I said, she loves collecting things, finding secrets and all that. She can’t play first person stuff, that just disorients her. Platformers are probably preferred. Stuff that doesn’t need camera controls is a plus. I know she really liked the newer Rayman games and also Donkey Kong on the Wii. I think that was Tropical Freeze? We tried playing that together after she beat it a long time ago alone and I was blown away by the difficulty of that game. I couldn’t keep playing it! So, difficulty is kind of relative with her. If she’s really into the game she’ll figure it out.
I’m thinking Sackboy, maybe? Don’t know much about it but it’s more for a younger audience as I understand it… Other than that… I don’t know, really? What else is there that falls into those requirements? As long as it’s on the Playstation store or PsNow I’d be happy for all recommendations! Can be as old as PS3 stuff, that’s fine!
If you can both handle horror play Until Dawn together.
I have more but they escape my brain right now.
If you want endless stuff Dreams.
Buy all the hentai and report back, thanks
Nice, thanks for reminding me about Until Dawn! I heard good things about it and it’s in the Playstation Plus Collection (at least in the European store?). I want to play God of War and some other games in that too so it’s a no brainer
Dreams I’ll also look into
I’m not sure if the Collecting Stuff like extends to loot, but I highly recommend Minecraft Dungeons. Pretty cheap and has a lot of fun shit to collect, no camera management whatsoever, and relatively easy (compared to something like Diablo 2 or whatever) up until the third difficulty level.
Also has a ton of fun secrets.
Steamworld Dig 2 comes highly recommended from me as well! Really fun game to just hit buttons in, great music, again lots of secrets, relatively easy but with nice challenging spikes. Good game.
That’s all I’ve got right now.
Dang, that’s a cool recommendation I would have never thought of! I am interested in that game as well. I think she could get into that, for sure. She knows about ARPGs because I think one of her ex boyfriends played either Diablo 2 or 3, maybe both. He was heavily into WoW and she now hates that game for everything it’s done to her life over the years lol But that’s another story.
Nice nice nice, I didn’t know about it before
I can’t wait for her to come home and tell her I’ve got like a list of games off of the people on “the forum” for her. She’s gonna be so pumped because I talk a lot about it, obviously. I’ll have to let y’all know what she thought about the games. Somehow it always fills me with joy to just watch her play games. It rekindles my love for the medium to see her enjoy them - that’s even better than enjoying a game myself
For tomorrow morning I installed her the Nsane Trilogy because it was included in the PS Plus bundle. Wonder if she’ll dig that at all. And then I’ll buy some of the recommendations later tomorrow.
I’m playing Days Gone right now and it feels really solid. Pretty surprised by that because I thought it wasn’t well received when it came out but maybe that’s faulty memory. Maybe open world survival zombie game just didn’t hit the mark at the time. It’s pretty fun though for what it is and it’s starting to hook me in.
XCOM 2 Legendary is a bust so we’re on WOTC Commander mode, a massive expansion on the base game with new mechanics and expanded mission variety which each, to a bullet a point, detract and deviate greatly from the core gameplay loop
Kind of amazing
I found vanilla XCom 2 (with expansions) to be if anything slightly better than WotC, but it was an interesting project for sure
They took a supply raid and turned into a Mario Party mini gane
The Spyro the Dragon trilogy are some real good hopping around exploring places and collecting stuff kind of games. A lot more forgiving than the Crash games but those aren’t a bad recommendation either. The Crash games, to their credit, are linear and don’t require manipulating a camera just to see what you’re doing. The Spyro games however are not very linear and will require some camera wrangling.
There are also the Ratchet and Clank games that are kind of a decent middle ground between shooty action games and chill explorathon type experiences.
