just what i wanted in halo!
this thing is definitely a mixed bag so far
I am sympathetic to Microsoftās current effort to release vaguely definitive instalments in their handful of huge franchises, Forza and Flight Simulator are both as good as theyāve ever been and no other company is in a position to resource titles like that. However, because there is no equivalent equipment licensure catalogue for hoo-rah military junk (thatās call of dutyās lane I guess), Halo continues to be in kind of a weird spot where no one is really buying them saying āok this really is the top of the pops over here.ā
I think they can probably support the multi to the point where itās at least, like, competitively preferential in a way that Halo hasnāt been in a decade, but beyond that idk
100%. especially when the iconic halo guns are in top form elsewhere this week.
infinite feels like a band touring on old material after shuffling their lineup vs. destinyās lead singer with polarizing new project
paul mccartney is canon in one of these so iām sticking with the metaphor
i just want one of these things that doesnāt have āseasonsā, mmorpg garbage, incessant sandbox tweaking, open world memery etc.
yes iām in my mid thirties how did you guess
iāve played this some because an old high school friend wanted to play, and as far as these free to play shooters go itās pretty good. 'course all the accoutrements to the core mechanical thing are all shit, kind of actively hateful shit. somehow, though, the really inane progression has been freeing because it is so distasteful that i canāt imagine actually giving the slightest fuck about any of the challenges or cosmetics or whatever.
anyway that stuff is boring as sin and really obviously shit and this game might not last because of it, so iām at least enjoying the multiplayer squads with friends stuff iāve been doing for now. as usual, halo is most fun for me as a canvas upon which to have friend activities, and this one fits the bill well enough for now
I personally had a grand old time playing Destiny 1 and 2 as 20-hour solo campaigns with a side of gun/skill/armor progression and then turning them off permanently not long after the āending cutsceneā plays. IMO Destiny doesnāt get enough credit for being designed to be very playable this way: the grind part always felt strictly optional to me. In the discourse, itās typically put in the same bucket as a pure grind shooter like Warframe, but I personally experienced it more like Controlās light-touch RPG/open-worldization.
I havenāt tried it yet, but itās kind of sounding like Halo Infinite is ironically a step back from Destiny in terms of the āI just want a linear campaignā experience
yeah, I have thousands of hours in D2 and the key to being a happy camper is just not doing anything you donāt want to regardless of the extrinsic incentive. I sit out the high effort low fun marginal return activities and Iām no worse for wear
Must restate what everyone that has had the chance to play it has said. The 3DS Game Center CX game is horrible. What a piece of trash.
Here is one description: the first thing that happens is they insult the weight of a real life person (AD Watanabe.) Throw this thing into the sun.
get ready for my meltdown when the inevitable quake reboot has season one and a community manager discussing rocket launcher nerfs
I played a little more Disc Room, got bored of it, looked up a āSecrets and Endingsā video on YouTube and called it a day.
BABA IS 3D
CHANGING THE GAME
gotta be up there with R&D1 in terms of team name/output quality differential
What game is that? Looks fun.
Thanks! Would you recommend it?
5/10 I think, not very recommend to pay for it. I got a GOG version from my friend.
Just a game good for passing time when you need a roguelike.
Good to know, thanks! Iām a sucker for roguelites, so Iāll look out for it if it goes on sale.
