They made the odd choice to make āfootbathsā the movement-upgrade pacing limiter. You need to make a point to spend your crystals at these footbaths to make traversal less of a chore.

You know the wonderful little stories in weapon descriptions from Drakengard / Nier? The House in Fata Morgana is like what if you took the best of these then stretched each to 4 hours. It does reach good horror climaxes but it mostly just fucking drags. Even for VN standards.
Iād have dropped it a while ago if not for its mythical Ā« best VN ever Ā» status. Iām too curious to stop. Need to know whether I become this gameās number 1 hater, or it will redeem itself

That was probably the weakest part of that VN for me (itās way more one-note than the previous stories) but it picks up right after, so itās worth sticking through IMO.

everyone is shiting on hachisuka constantly, and leaving her out of everything, and talking over her, and talking shit to her, and then almost firing her, and fucking her on the side while treating her like shit at work. and she obviously has scary shit going on that i havent got to yet that they keep hinting at but like whatever lets talk about her job
like the actuall thing that pissed me off about it was ALL THAT. at the end of the case she takes the main character aside and completely emotionally dumps on him (a bunch of THESE LINES are fucing stupid, like her hair being messed up is as big as deal as the shit going on with her father) realizes shes talking to a man, offers him a date, realizes talking to men is hopeless and pointless and just makes a face and says FUCK IT I WAS ON MY PERIOD
and like holy shit i felt that, like when youāre up to your neck in dudes bullshit and they do not care about whats actually going on sometimes its fuckin easier to just be like āwhatever idiot i was on my periodā that line was like a fucking breath of fresh air after how SMOTHERED i was by mens bullshit chatter in that chapter
