Game music on vinyl

I need to get a new turntable cart, I am running on a poorly aligned backup like a barbarian slob. My M97xe died, coincidentally Shure ceased all cartridge production, and the prices for replacements are currently: very stupid.

Otherwise: I would probably buy this.

The Umurangi Generation (including Macros songs) soundtrack is getting a limited release and probably soon to sell out? It’s other variant is already sold out.

owning a vinyl player made me stack up on a few game-related LPs.
CC and FFIX one will be coming later this summer, but, have received that

set this week and put it next to Lana Del Rey’s Paradise LP, for maximum dorkery. At least for a few days, promise.

Dark confession/secrets time:
What made me do it?
The FF13 tracks. :officersonic:

mondo is putting up some SH2 soundtracks for sale again

hmmm, HoD is indeed an absolute all-timer

too bad it’s LRG (a company i refuse to deal with in any regard) and not like ship to shore phonoco or data-discs

honestly the soundtrack of HoD (probably my favorite castlevania soundtrack outside of maybe akumajou densetsu with the VRC6) is not one i’d think would particularly benefit from being on vinyl. it’s a very contextual soundtrack

also wish they’d been a mite more creative with the cover art for these

like, vinyl can kind of soften and even “muddy” things just slightly, extremely mild “cutoff” feel, cracks and pops and ambient physicality seeping in

for HoD, it already sounds like an approximation of itself. your imagination is 100% key in making the soundtrack sing to its full potential. your brain as active participant is an important part of this equation for HoD’s music, and giving the raw waveforms more “noise”/variance isn’t really going to help? i don’t think, anyway

i will always justify having more aya kojima art in the house even if i’ve seen it a million times
