I’m so stoked this hasn’t been a let down after Shadowbringers. What a trip! So many fun things to talk about already (just got to the 5th area).

I can’t stress how good this story is. shadowbringers was great but this is just, I’ve never felt so seen by a game. any time I think something cool should happen in a game it never meets my expectations. this is going so far beyond them, and the values of the game writers line up with my values, the choices I’m making feel like they matter, everything I’ve done to this point is actually coming together in a meaningful way, and it loves fanservice for square games that game on grey carts. I’m only half done. BACK TO IT

How have the queue times / spoiler chat been? Usually I wait a few weeks after an xpac launch for everything to die down a bit before jumping back in but the raw excitement I’m seeing here and elsewhere has got me revved up in a way I might not be able to wait until Christmas break.
queues are awful if you log on between 11am and 10pm, but if you play super late at night or early in the morning its fine
like it’ll take me 4 hours to get in when i log in at 5pm pst but if i get booted like after midnight my time the queue is high-normal (about 100 people)
to avoid spoiler shout chat i made a fourth tab that is only party/say/event chat/FC
the moon is fucking annoying now because people are makign moonbase fucking alpha jokes in 2021 please. everyone. stop.

Damn, there’s no way I’d be playing outside of peak hours. Though I heard people are getting free playtime due to server queues so maybe I’ll resub anyways.
Also for the record I’ve never once seen a spoiler in any chat in the game in however many years I’ve been playin git, which lead me to believe there must have been a filter or something implemented by the game to prevent it somehow. But making a new tab to dump general chat and shouts is definitely a good idea.
i havent seen spoilers in shout chat either, just annoying shit lol

I went full nuclear on this one, removed shout and yell chat from my tabs entirely until this launch is over. The FC provides enough human contact here, and I’ll be willing to indulge in the cultural signifier jokes by the time hunt trains are fueled back up.
