Final Fantasy 7: The Original, The Remake, The Legacy

I was thinking if they were going to do it it would be Aerith or Tifa. Just think of the gamefaqs meltdown! That would be a great choice but yes I would definitely let Tifa die in a heartbeat.

this would absolutely be the most cruel way to do it and I’d have to think for a real long time about it

It will be between Aerith and Zack, who is alive now for no reason. And no matter which one you choose, the other will be mad at you for letting the other die for the rest of the game

Eh. I can think of multitudinous reasons why no one would ever like Cloud or want to talk to him.

it’ll be a choice between Aeris or Cloud, and if you choose to kill Cloud Zack takes over.

the shinra office in this gives me huge city hotel vibes

replaying it again I have to agree. I thought the voice acting was growing on me but it’s objectively better late game than it is early game. especially tifa imo, her first few scenes sound so weird and awkward. assuming the voice acting was mostly recorded in plot sequence. is that normal for this kind of game?

also how do I get a job as a recordist in the games industry lol

No way, in the original the robot’s writing is “unaccented” but cutesy and then when you finally meet Reeve, the guy piloting him, he has a really badly realized southern drawl thing, which also made no sense

I have no idea what Barrett sounds like in this game but there are vocal techniques to adopt a gruff metal sound without damaging your vocal pathway

aaaaaand never playing this game

Usually it is, yes! I mean, exporting scripts from non-linear content is another thing, but with cutscenes an effort is usually made to record in narrative order.

I’ve have worked with Tifa’s actor a bunch actually, and she is a really great character actor. If you saw any of Glow on Netflix you’ll appreciate how specific her role in that is vs. Tifa.

Haha!

I think one of the biggest issues here is The effect of having photorealistic anime humans in really good cosplay, I mean how do you even pull it off? After thinking about it, I don’t think it’s possible to do much better than they’ve done with it.

Cuba you’re a boomer the anime people in this game look fucking awesome and I wish every new jrpg looked half as good as this.

Live in LA where it is super expensive to live and get a job at voiceover studio that has very small margins, like mine, which is now in danger of closing due to a pandemic lol

It is not the look

It is the sound

Half the reason I care about any of these characters at all is because of the english voice acting :woman_shrugging:

I also find English anime style VA intolerable
