The venue splits sound really annoying. Yo eSports.
I think Koihime Enbu might be finally out of Console Port Delay Hell? And it supports PS3 sticks on PS4, unlike some games.

There better be a a Dreamcast UFC exhibition in mandalay bay,
EVO roster is what you would expect aside from Pokken. I don’t know if that came from a push from Namco or Nintendo but the game has never looked particularly hot from a serious competition standpoint. But it’s hard to get a grasp on that game from the match videos so that will definitely be something to look out for. The venue change on Sunday sounds cool in concept but I can see it being a hassle since you need additional travel. Will they be running casuals there too? At the least it should make for an entertaining stream experience!
Not only that but the game also supports online cross-play between PS3 and PS4 copies! Why has so much work been put into this game I do not know, but if anyone wants to play it via SharePlay hit me up. My copy should arrive this weekend.
Not sure I’m feeling US players only getting a bit less than a month (if they import the JP version) to practice for Xrd Revelator for EVO but at least it isn’t a BlazBlue update so no one has to relearn their character. Just gotta focus on the new system changes and match ups with 4 new characters.
Though probably won’t be much different from 2014 when USF4 was only out a month before evo
where no one really knew how to use Red Focus and players that played the new characters were able to exploit the lack of match up knowledge.
Worst scenario was probably Tekken 7 at EVO where US players could only play the game beforehand on special stations at select majors.
wait is SFV beta live again. will I get a key immediately if I preorder it. I need this game so I can finally uninstall league of legends for the third time
Won a few matches as R Mika, though I had no idea what I’m doing. Pretty fun, too bad I’m gonna be gone all weekend.
wow this beta blows ass. they’re apparently attempting to test some fantastic new “get challenged for fights every second whenever you’re doing anything” system, so you can’t turn it off. which means you go to training to try to figure out what the fuck is up with this game only you’re assaulted by an endless sea of tryhard Ryu players every third of a second. I haven’t played Karin since she was in Alpha 3, ok, bro. that was presumably before you were fucking born. give me a break for a second.
Secret Infinite Training Mode: Set the character you want to use as the training dummy, set the dummy to playback recording then start recording and bask in your 1:40 of uninterrupted training!
The matchmaking follows you into the main menu. I was just browsing my match history and suddenly another challenger was approaching. Relentless.
that said I’m pretty excited to fail miserably at Karin once this thing hits live
RAAAASHIIIDOOOOOOOOOO is silly enough to be actually charming, which is more than I can say for the rest of SFV’s soundtrack.
I should probably boot up my PS4 and play this again while it’s up but honestly I’d rather have it on PC (and I wanna try F.A.N.G., he looks more fun than the rest of the cast, damn it).
This actually makes me hesitant to tack super onto her juggles sometimes if it’s not going to close out a round, especially since it always blows your opponent across the screen while you OHOHOHO it up. hp/lp/jump back lp are ok-ish at the right ranges, but having access to a catch all like qcb+pp is very comforting.
I wish my reaction speed wasn’t so slow. Not being thrown by folks randomly walking up for a mile seems pretty important in a game with such strong/punishing frame trapping. Unfortunately, not being thrown has never been a strength of mine.
Reed and Dracko get out of my dumb American fighting game (Last 20 seconds if you want to skip the main trailer)
hey I started to get karin ever so slightly and now I can win other ways than just out footsie-ing people who don’t understand fighting games. baby steps.
So what’s the deal with Street Fighter V on PS4 supporting PS3 sticks? I recall them saying they’d look into it, but as far as I can tell, they’ve never said anything more about it. It just feels like at some point someone will need to stop supporting PS3 sticks or else stick makers will get pissy that no one’s buying their PS4 sticks, and SFV feels like a natural cutting off point to me, but I dunno. Exchange rates are pretty rough right now and if I can avoid buying a new stick, that would be pretty sweet…
is it worth trying The New Fighting Games
i finally got xrd only to promptly find nobody local to play it with
i guess i gotta play these games online and lose horribly…
nothing made me feel older than when I read this and realized that A3 was 18 years ago
yeah…
And yet when I play it, it still feels kind of fresh.
rip gorgeous sprite work. ye shall be missed
