Isn’t The Embracer Group THQ Nordic under a new name?

ETA: Finally figured it out, THQ Nordic had a business arm and a development arm, the business arm got renamed Embracer Group and they’ve gone on an acquiring spree.

I usually distrust corporate buyouts but it’s not like SE was treating these studios well.

I also think Tomb Raider the brand could be worth a lot if marketed properly so this still feels really cheap.

I’m looking forward to Embracer assigning Deus Ex to some euro-trash company to produce the most self-indulgent, intentionally obscure rpg

As sb Tomb Raider fan #1 (@B_coma fight you for it) the apparently infinite goodwill this IP is given despite all the horseshit they’ve done with it is kind of amazing to me, especially considering how little the brand stands for when you actually boil it down to essentials.

not euro enough, its problems were entirely to do with how american console game jank it was

It’s a pretty decent Xbox game with a bad PC port.

Movie Maker is an absolute all-timer

I kind of define American jank as, ‘we’ve simplified and removed critical load-bearing bones and now the game fundamentally doesn’t work’, next to the euro-jank of ‘slap another few statistical models on it and we can make this heliocentric plan stabilize, baby’
