back in the previous corporate handoff of Warner everyone was hoping someone like Microsoft might pick us up because maybe they would want what we could make. But they held off and set up some competing priorities (including a second office in San Francisco built from mobile gaming execs so we could have two competing strategic visions?) until someone came up with a grand strategy to tie all the bones of Midway and THQ Warner had accidentally collected into a unified plan.
Naturally, changing what studios work on involves canceling what studios are working on.

these studios all pretty much peaked in 2016 with their first round of PS4 releases back when they notably still had IO leading the pack so while this seems kind of goofy I canāt say that they were exactly being valued as is

yeah I mean, though they are a company whoās purpose is gobbling up old IPs, I still view this as relative diversificationā¦ and most of these properties are likely in much better hands held by anyone but squeenix. canāt be sad about itā¦ not sure if I should feel good about it.
