I’ll also add that I tried out that Fist of the North Star game on my PS5 and the thing sounded like it was about the explode. I did some light research and found out other PS5s are having trouble playing PS4 discs. So, it’s silly to have to keep my PS4 to play games that haven’t been optimized for PS5. Sorry, I know it’s not directly related to your post but figured I would add my own little frustration to the mix.
there’s also a whole issue of save transfers, which apparently has got better, but often involved installing the ps4 version on ps5 to upload the save.

A team is making a mod for Black Mesa that remakes Blue Shift. Pretty cool! They are only on chapter 3 of 10 though. Gonna take a while.

I played an earlier version of this last year. it’s incredible how underwhelming it is to actually play. not in a bad way – I think the amount of work is genuinely impressive. it just feels exactly like playing it on gamecube, but nicer. everything is so subtly done. honestly would love to see hd remasters handled with this combination of thoroughness and restraint. feels much more like true game preservation than trying to resell something.

it was only a matter of time before the nostalgia virus hit shit like this. weird to consider that by now the majority of peoples’ experiences with classic games are necessarily with emulators far removed from original hardware. 2xsai supereagle is just as much a part of the culture as CRT hardware.
