Youtube creators first study the art of acting and master the sort of facial expressions used by a thespian who needs their face to be readable by someone way out in the last row of the gallery. Then they go ahead and take a closeup of that in 4K for their thumbnail

AVGN did those when the thumbnail was the literal size of a thumbnail. My favorite youtuber Phil McKnight says thereās a lot of bad ideas that people havenāt tried because they are just not very good, but once someone DOES try them they become novel and soon become widely imitated.

iāve played a little Omori on my laptop for a few hours, and my primary impression is āwow i didnāt realize 2d rpgmaker games taxed old macbooks soā
so far itās cute and the psychological horror aspect interests me, but i havenāt seen much of substance yet. it is heavily Earthbound-influenced

This may mean less than it seems, because this is a small studio on their first game and not really a business yet in the sense of a sustaining concern, and really far from large corporations with the resources that entails, but ā
ā itās still a pretty big deal.
Theyāre part of the Communications Workers of America union, which has made significant progress recently in the past few years in newsrooms. They started making tech progress in the last year which seems to coincide with the progress theyāve made in games ā the Alphabet Workers Union formed earlier this year, and the CWA has been able to get statements ready and re-broadcasted when a lot of game-specific news hit. The new, ongoing Activision Workers Alliance is organizing with help from the CWA.

Feels like both Undertale and Omori were unsubconsciously born out of Nintenās and Nessā disconcerting silent changes of expression when moving around

iāve never played earthbound so i have no context but iāve played a bit of OMORI and like eska says, itās pretty cute. i kind of d/l the demo from reddit back when people were still waiting for it so iām at a point where iām treading old ground, but so far i like the atmosphere and have a feeling that things will probably not end as well as the cuteness would have one believe.
it might go on sale on steam soon since the holiday sale is coming out so you could always bite the bullet then if youāre still curious. from what iāve heard about the game so far, it was worth the wait and i kind of feel like thatās an honest assessment
