I have watched 40 episodes of Bosch in the past month
IIRC Netflixâs two-season habit is in part because the union rates go up on a third season
Netflix just has no content worth paying attention to at this point, theyâd rather lose money on a ranting transphobe than license something worth watching (on purpose, anyway. squid game was a fluke)
netflix doesnât want anything worth watching. their entire goal is to get people to think âletâs watch some netflix,â rather than âletâs watch Xâ
they got Hand of God and Lost Daughter like concurrently with their theatrical runs, Witcher is fine, they have Riverdale in Canada, they have Jojo now, The Harder They Fall was really fun, Godzilla Singular Point was good, I Think You Should Leave is great, the Castlevania show was weirdly good, Eric Andreâs Bad Trip was good, The Mitchells vs the Machines was good,
thatâs a pretty good year for Netflix idk
(I steal everything and donât care about streaming service loyalty)
The correct outlook
nothing says âBittorrentâ like Elena Ferrante
every time i browse netflix at friendsâ houses, i can never find anything i want to watch. amazon are a bigger, more evil company, but prime has seemingly endless horror and martial arts movies in various different flavours and vintages.
annoyed that they removed who killed daigoro tokuyama when i was halfway through though. and no-oneâs released it on disc, either. fuckin streaming bullshit rent economy rassum frassum
as far as paying for something and then never using it, criterion channel is the way to go
this is true. i watch a lot of martial arts movies on amazon (and tubi, which has managed to get the rights to some really incredible movies simply because nobody cares about them anymore)
between this + Elden Ring + Triangle Strategy + System Shock all the games I want to play this year are coming out at the same time again
more opportunity for thieving
I donât necessarily even mind that the entire game industry has landed on March for AA releases
youâre also forgetting hot march release final fantasy: stranger of paradise!!!
am i alone in thinking that this game seems aesthetically off? i donât know if i have the words for it. iâve been avoiding having to look at it on twitter because of this feeling. it just looks like shit to me every time i see screenshots. when i watched one of the trailers it just seemed like the â doll people â affect. everyone looks displaced in the fantasy setting. maybe thatâs the point of modern ff titles now tho. â a fantasy based in reality '.
the same thing bothered me about ff xv. the hyper realistic looking people mixed with amanoâs monster design just seems like it clashes to my eye. xv i find more tolerable to look at but i still only played for a few hours because the battle system seemed janky and hard to manage imo.
i donât have anything against xiv or xvi tho. i think both of these look great and i canât wait for xvi to come out. itâll probably end up being one of my favorites along with xiv, vi, and xii.
netflix is bad but im pretty excited for the new mitsuo iso netflix thing coming out next week
Stranger of Paradise could go either way imo. As someone who enjoyed Nioh, it could be mindless fun but it also looks like it could just be straight bad. Cheesy grittiness of the PS360 era is what will give it life or death.
I ainât playing it tho, boss healthbars look mega grindy, even by Nioh 2 standards.
who will make the tubi of video games
Would that be humble bundle? A subscription that gives you a mix of old blockbusters and old to not-that-old indie-adjacent games.
