this is making me laugh imagining a streaming platform that consists mostly of old Cryo Interactive games and Shaun White Snowboarding.

Preserved at the expense of all other fidelity and performance. :crossed_fingers:

Reminds me of the start of the 360 era with those sweaty and porous sports players and the blistering material sheen of the spaces they played in. Really weird aesthetic. Super HD.

Even after watching the video I still don’t get how the guys who made Hotline Miami (including Cactus) could make Hotline Miami 2

I was curious so I watched parts of the « Hotline Miami is a misunderstood masterpiece » youtube essay and it boiled down to mostly « the story is thought provoking » . Ok…….
At one point they basically go « with all the enemies killing you repeatedly from offscreen, Hotline Miami 2 isn’t fun, but maybe it’s on purpose? » which is very damning since it’s pretty apparent from the first video that Dennaton still tried to make a fun game

Edit: sad that they got so much vitriol for this though, gamers were a mistake

Hotline Miami 1 was always the better game to me, more constrained and purposeful, more directed. Hotline Miami 2’s design seems to be raging against the very idea of making a Hotline Miami 2.

That is sort of anachronistically consistent with the Saturn on top of Ryo’s tv and late 90s Sega IP capsule toys lol. Like a double 1986/99 period piece

Bet this will have nothing to do with Yokosuka.
