Yeah, I think this is the case too. Standard weapons also have incredible flexibility compared to Uniques, since you can change their Arts and Affinities as necessary. The weapon I’ve used most in my playthrough is just a short sword! Because I can swap elements and arts as I like instead of being locked into a specific moveset.
Holy shit Great Runes really, really change the game. I have Radagan’s Soreseal AND Godrick’s Great Rune and I have like +5 stats to everything and +10 to my melee categories…
Wait I thought you could only equip one great rune. Can you get more slots?
Radagon’s Soreseal isn’t a great rune, it’s just a really overpowered accessory
I can’t tell if I messed up the hug lady’s questline or not, though it feels like I did. Either way, I managed to forget that all these debuff icons are from her and I played with them active for several hours again.
Is there a way to use emplacements?
Black Blade Kindred is stoopid, I hate it D=
Yeah I really hate those dead gargoyles. They show up so frequently, it’s both annoying to fight and underwhelming.
Wat? There’s more of these like the one in front of the Bestial Sanctum?
Yep : /
Oh great… Killed it and the Beast Priest got insanely mad at me… D=.
These Gargoiles are nothing but trouble.
Red map area DONE.
Not wanting to come back here anytime soon.
D= D= D= D=
Did you, or did anyone else think that beast man felt like a big homage to the first time Guts met Zodd in Berserk?
That was the first place I went and I avoided killing the guard but the guy didn’t talk to me ![]()
The environment is kinda there… Lots of stone but too light. Also a great lack of horns (which I have btw).
This might be triggered by how many shrubs you give him, but I’m not 100% sure because the same thing happened to me at the same time. You can beat him up a little to calm him down.
Very frustrated right now because two directions I feel compelled to move in this game are FILLED with encounters against those super deadly knights who can blend you and ignore your poise damage with one neat trick.
Spent an hour grinding and got like 10 levels, guess I’m all in again
Ancient Dragon Lansseax more like Ancient Dragon Lanssux
Anyway I beat this. I wasn’t really blown away by the endgame, it was mostly a boss rush, and the interesting ideas in it were already done better in From’s previous games. No particularly interesting lore reveals either, at least in the ending I picked (Ranni). The best late-game content is def the optional area in the far north, and the main quest underwhelmed in comparison.
It kept reminding me how this game has too many sketchily-defined characters with zero context to give them any narrative heft. For instance, it wasn’t particularly an interesting reveal that Godfrey or the cleric boss have alternate identities, as I had never heard of either their assumed or real name. Artorias was good in DkS1 because they talk about him the whole game and prime you to expect something different. But for as long as this game is, it still doesn’t find any opportunity to ever foreshadow anything.
