Elden Ring (Part 1)

I’m actually having a lot of fun doing red summon signs for 1v1. i suck and my build is not well suited for pvp but it’s still cool

i need to find where to get the red summon signs, all i’ve got so far is the consumable bloody finger :frowning:

I only posted this image of despair to trigger the turning of the karmic wheel and enable victory, and it worked

this should just be the position you arrive in any time you use these

My magic build wasn’t working against a boss so I used a larval tear to make my vigor 99 then tanked all their attacks while doing a ranged attack as my jellyfish absorbed everything else and changed back after.

I love this game.

i took a stonesword key as my gift and did this first thing and felt like I made the right choice, it set the mood for the rest of the game for what i could look forward to

There’s a variation of that room later on where to get past it you have to walk on a wooden balcony then drop on top of it so it can ride over a pit of lava to the end

okay yeah I accidentally bypassed all the festivities of the festival. I went back and there was a fog gate there and guys with flame throwers and shit. don’t know how that happened or how that sending gate got unlocked

oh, I guess I did that too

I gave up on this no one is fighting with honor they should take me 1v1 but with me on the high ground, that would be honorable

btw @Broco I wound up having a shockingly easy time with the dragonkin tree sentinel, one of very few bosses I’ve beaten first try, go figure

I have been locked out of upgrading the Hookclaws I’ve been using for the past 20 hours because I couldn’t find any more [1] stones. Now I have a bunch. But I first want to locate an alternative and consider upgrading that. Grrrr.

eventually you can buy all the stones you want up to +6, you need to beat the mine and tunnel bosses and bring their bells to the roundtable merchant

I’m always so elated from victory I never pay attention to what I actually get from any of these fights so later I’m always scrolling through my inventory wondering where the hell I got any of this

Going to wait for some time before I start this game, because with Dark Souls 2 I reached 40 hours of playtime per week, then I got a bit scared (and reduced to… 20, which is still a lot). I need to self preserve myself for a while after so much virtual gaming :grimacing:

I just looked this article up and it’s 1) by simon parkin and 2) called dark souls the most difficult game of the century. so as much as I want to hear about how awkward these grr/miyazaki conversations must have been, I am unfortunately unable. the true dark souls starts here

I blame the editor on point 2. Not that I think Parkin is the world’s greatest game critic, but in the article text proper he summarizes the series difficulty in a more measured way: “The video-game director Hidetaka Miyazaki, who’s in his late forties, has punished more players than perhaps anyone else.” The guy who wrote the summary paragraph didn’t realize that this implies Miyazaki is a notable popularizer of difficulty rather than maximizer of it.

In any case yeah I already quoted above the only fresh line in the article
