I stumbled upon A Game of Thrones at the library when the second book had just come out or was about to come out. I found the first book so compelling that I brought it with me while driving to work one day and read a little at each red light. That is the only time I have ever done that with a book.
Yeah, his skill is particularly in structuring the plot to communicate extensive and complicated exposition while keeping the reader on the edge of their seat instead of bored/overwhelmed.
(This has little or nothing to do with Souls/Elden Ring obviously)
For the clue that Fia gives you about the knifeprints⦠is it located in the weeping peninsula in the valley between the minor erdtree and ailing village? Yes or no answers please! It seems like it could be but the drawing is not totally accurate.

Iām going to act like george rr martin made this entire game himself
thanks george for making elden ring instead of winds of winter
I really love how he refuses to write his next book but instead did a dark souls
thereās a bit in the New Yorker Miyazaki profile that suggests that GRRM insisted on having their concept meetings in New Jersey
Some territorial sheep have tried to kill me unprovoked on several occasions now, often while Iām looking at my map, so their species has long left the no kill list.
I think that Iāve mentioned it before, but that the map screen is only framing the map areas youāve actually traveled to is a most wonderful thing. All my assumptions about the general map size were shattered again tonight and itās been a pleasure each time.
I donāt know how to square the names being dull and unimaginative in this game with fromās previous record of evocative names without invoking grrmās involvement
like, compare to Patches, Sage Freke, Garl Vinland, Solaire of Astora, etc.
The previous games all had deeply evocative names that werenāt at all like the typical katakana-soup name of a jrpg set in euro-fantasylands, the nameās in this game are so blandly generic fantasy that they feel like placeholders in comparison
Pleased to announce that 40 hours in one week is right around when I decide that I have had enough Elden Ring for now. Gonna take a break for Triangle Strategy.
feel like I missed out on something at the festival when I put my summon sign down I had to fight two bosses at once with the other person but for me the room just had blaidd and some ghost npcs in it and a guy announcing the fight with radahn. there was also a sending gate that just took me right to the inside of the castle close to a bonfire
took me a minute lol
Just tried to invade 3 or 4 times and ended up using the finger severer to leave every time bc I exclusively fought duos where one guy would just spam magic at me while his buddy constantly swung at me with a greatsword. Coward shit honestly. Face me in knightly combat!!!
yeah invasions are 1v2 unless they use a tongue. thatās the video game
ya, in previous souls games that usually meant youād face the cooperator first and then the host, but people aināt fucking around in this one lol
Iām gonna get drunk and spend the next 8 hours invading NOOBS
