Still haunted by the one turtle I murdered and wishing you could use that “Turtle Neck Meat” to craft some Carl Saganesque vestments for your astrologer.
did anyone clear out this goofballs keep for him. he acted like he wanted me to stop by after but I went there and it was same as I left it.
yeah that’s where you get one of the medallion halves that you didn’t have and had to take the coward’s path
I was trying to remember where I got that half from. I wish there was a “this was found at x place” note in the item descriptions or something
the other half is in the horrible building full of harpies in the desert
as far back as I can remember, I wanted to be an elden ring
I got a left and right half medallion but they’re to completely separate Great Lifts
that’s great, I’m picturing you saying this to the admission person at the branson zipline
I only just now bothered to figure out equipping great runes
i learned that:
- fire damage is weakened when it is raining
- lightning damage is boosted when it is raining, and will cause shockwaves in wetlands
- you can block during a back-step
- all weapons have slightly unique ducking R1 attacks that are sometimes good
we can blame jarjar martin for the generic fantasy name soup, right? Like he was only involved in the backstory andI wouldn’t be surprised if he just gave everyone the blandest possible names because dude has no imagination
These are def katakana-soup names. Named like SNES Final Fantasy towns. They have no particular “vibe” because they don’t contain any allusions to any particular thing, concept or culture.
GRRM’s names do contain such allusions. (While not bludgeoning you with them like JK Rowling does, which is the inverse way of being terrible at naming.)
I just heard he was involved with the world building which makes sense to me
Everyone in this thread seems embarrassed about his involvement
I like some of GRRM’s writing a lot. Maybe in part because I discovered him before his work was all that well-known. I would recommend his short story Sandkings to anyone without reservation.
I mean, anyone who enjoys reading short stories.
yeah don’t know enough about him to be embarrassed. should i be? i have vague “he’s popular” reservations but i haven’t read any of his work.
Railroad is horny and has a gimmick hat and probably has a house that looks like Richard Garriott’s orgy den X the floor of Dave Meltzer’s office…I think I like him, I like this George Martin that I’ve cooked up in my head
I agree with wourme that GRRM is pretty good. He’s by definition overrated now that he has a “world’s greatest fantasy author” aura around him, but that’s not the same as being a bad writer.
I enjoyed the first Game of Thrones book a lot back in the nineties. Not quite enough to keep following the series though as the momentum started to flag
