I’m really too bad at these games to be playing melee-only.
Summoning an AI cooperator and the jellyfish to gank Godrick dropped my frames to 0, but it worked.
Shortly before that, I had an excellent encounter in Stormveil with the bug thing from the beginning of the game. I kept stepping in and out of the room to catch my breath until we were both on our last legs, and then I remembered I have throwing knives.

They should have made that horse a giant gnarly goat instead.
Edit: Playing now and riding the horse it really does look like more a goat/donkey kind of thing than a horse.

The group password (which is GOD.HAND, for anyone who hasn’t used it yet) just highlights messages and bloodstains other members have made. You still see all the non-member shit scattered around. Maybe it also highlights summon signs but I haven’t noticed that yet; we’ve just been organizing co-op sessions on the Beautiful Game discord and using multiplayer passwords to ensure we all get matched up

I turned off motion blur and cranked every other setting to max and I’m getting a more solid frame rate and the game looks more sharp and colorful.
What the fuck. This isn’t how graphics settings are supposed to work.

I have 7 spell slots now and am using a mix of spells and miracles because I can’t help myself. MORE BUILD OPTIONS. I feel beautiful
when I first saw the class loadouts I just assumed mixing sorceries and incantations would just be proper, there are a lot of different utility options and miracles aren’t generally terrible like they were in previous games. putting fire into the faith spell pool was a good idea. I’m currently having fun with the gravity sorceries.
there are also the necromancies which use both faith and int so I feel like this is the first time from has properly supported a bishop type class
yeah the trouble is that I’m already using a str/dex curved greatsword and now I’m trying to cast int/faith necromancies
at least there seem to be a ton of attacks that deal right around 400 damage to you so as long as you have >400 health you can almost always take one hit

I’ve got two sorcery books and need to find an npc that can read them asap. Also found a spell that sounds great but requires 54 Int which lol, see you later.
I accidentally bypassed castle stormveil completely and ended up deep in the burger king mage academy before realizing I probably should’ve hung around the opening area more to find shards. Game is sick. Went Prisoner which is the first time I’ve ever messed with magic in one of these games (my logic is with it being open world there’s going to be a lot of hidden areas that reward you with spells, so i’d hate for them to be useless). The starting Prisoner spell feels good to use and I haven’t found one I like better yet. The fan of knives is nice if you’re getting swarmed though.
Also found out how to Invade people but that’s not really my thing.
OK apparently this was because my TV had some adaptive smoothing thing enabled, i thought I disabled it ages ago but apparently I have to do that for all TV modes individually
Idk how you guys are getting good performance on PC, I have a 2080ti and it freezes for like three full seconds anytime anything happens on the overworld until the game has been running for a couple hours. after that it still freezes, just not as long
