Elden Ring (Part 1)

skeletal militiamen is a good summon, there are two of them and if the enemy doesn’t destroy the bones when they fall, they respawn

yeah he was trivial for me once I realized he could be interrupted and staggered but I didn’t go after him until I could wield the bloodhound sword. did the whole castle area after the southeast peninsula and that felt smart.

he’s vulnerable to like… every cheese strategy, you just won’t have any if you try to press straight to him. sort of like gascoigne.

where is that at

tibia marina boss in summonwater village

patches sells a thing called “margits shackle” and you can use it twice in the fight before he brings out his glowing hammer, and it knocks him on the ground helpless where you can wail on him for a bit. I used that and the npc summon and the jellyfish

the area you can access if you use a stonesword key right back at the beginning of the game is hilarious btw

oh and I finally found a bow I liked without having to buy one, under a bridge in the underground city

Elden Ring’s version of Capra Demon:

Ok, no dogs… but still.
That room is way tight for a boss that moves like that.

it’s funny to me that everyone is still complaining about PC performance because I am totally vindicated in having the game run as well as could possibly be expected on a 10 year old CPU and a 6 year old GPU

it’s fine, at least as smooth as bloodborne

Pc experience thus far has been fine for me? It seems to get slowdown mostly on area transitions.

edit: lmao I had not read the post above this one before replying this, I swear I didn’t post this as a cold rebuttal

Yeah I can see the stutter on the close analysis but in practice i never noticed it before? It probably is there but it hasn’t tremendously impacted me.

There have been times where the game will pause for a split second and then go into Benny Hill mode. I am not a fan of this, I would like it to stop, it also hasn’t killed me yet so who cares.

If it saves anyone a click and twelve minutes

I’d been running it through Moonlight local streaming so chalked up the stutters and Benny Hill effect to that (lol)

Is there a way to explore in coop? The summoned character doesn’t seem to be able to m grab bonfires :frowning:

fwiw series s performance is fine (definitely not 60 but always somewhere between 30-60, no stuttering or other weirdness) tho online still doesn’t work at all :frowning:

Spent 1.5-2hrs last night trying to eke out a win against Godrick, the switch to imbuing your weapons with the ashes at the bonfire instead of locking you in with upgrades at the blacksmith is welcome, I settled on trying for Bleed with an imbued broadsword, along with accepting help from the AI NPC and my old jelly pal Aurelia. It finally crashed for the 30th time and went to bed. Woke up and won first try after some fruitful Bleeds, the NPC surviving 2/3rds of the way through, and the jelly girl managing to poison him.

pc performance been fine for me honestly but i always turn motion blur off, and a pal was struggling with stutters until they turned it off…
