E3 2021 --- directly into our veins

Lol, one of the hosts presenting the game just mistakenly said it was the first Metroid game with permadeath, and the other presenter had to correct her that it’s actually the first with “instakill”.

BOTW will be fine so I didn’t even watch that

can’t believe nobody mentioned strange brigade in the thread, wait no yes i can believe that

I can believe they stole the premise of this from the beloved Super Metroid hack Ascent

i’m not even like a super duper Hollow Knight fan but i can’t imagine not wanting to buy Hollow Knight 2 over this

You know, I think what’s really missing here is there’s no sense of humidity. The pixel art metroid games always felt really wet and moldy. This game looks soundstage dry.

Hey gang I missed the Nintendo Direct but my favorite old Nintendo teams are R&D1 and Intelligent Systems, did they show anything?

Was kind of expecting tekken on switch to go with the smash character

I think they’re long past the characters making sense for the platform they’re released on

The SMT V trailer narration explaining the premise of every SMT game was funny but no random encounters!

I did not expect BotW 2 to be further Skyward Sword apologia lol

Team Fuck EAD stay winning this E3 :sunglasses:

Glad Advance Wars is getting a new lease on life, but I was excited at the prospect of a real rejuvenation rather than a port. Looks neat tho

Anyway, no new StarTropics. Fuck this shit.

the big switch sale is live and while I’ll probably play whatever tactics game you put in front of me I gotta say mario + rabbids is entirely enjoyable for $10

like I think Ubi has publisher rights to this so they actually mark it down far more aggressively than nintendo would and it’s pretty darn fun

Optimistically a small project to justify a bigger one

yeah that’s a $20 game if i’ve ever played one, so $10 is a great deal

Why does this pattern always recur with Metroid. Nintendo seems to find it hard to actually care about the franchise but they also don’t simply let it die like Valve did with Half-Life

Metroid Dread/Metroid 5 is my most anticipated game of 2008 - there’s a scan in Prime 3 that teases it lol
