I played it a bit after getting it for free* for Prime Day
the videogame part seems perfectly fine aside from the fact that they clearly made a loot treadmill and had to tear it out and rebalance the entire game
the narrative part seemed miserable

Tom Chick’s review at quartertothree made it sound like a pretty good game mechanically. I’d probably bite for a fiver. It’s currently $14 on Xbox which still feels like too much to me.

Note there are two sales right now on PSN the Black Friday Sale for full priced shit and then the Additional Sales where you find stuff like Air Twister and alot of the Cotton ports

I got a notification that Dark Sector was on sale, but it’s actually free, which I won’t argue with.
Will I actually play it this time…maybe.
Edit: Also it’s maybe unwise to get given 1) how easily they’re emulated and 2) financial backing, but those NGPC collections are $5 each.

I’ve been good for a long time but I did buy a bunch of stuff because I can play it on the steam deck. I make these decisions with the assumption I will somehow find the time and will to play dozens upon dozens of hours of these games as my 1200 other steam games look upon me with pity and shame.

The process involves sourcing an exotic m2 sata drive as opposed to an nvme one if you’re not just going to boot off of a thumb drive so beware.
I’ll get around to finishing the process with mine this winter I swear
