It is beautiful.
Unlocking the bios in preparation for the upgrades seems to be keeping me from booting into the normal Atari interface too, and I think switching back will update me into the version where the bios password isn’t known, so I’ve never actually tried it for it’s intended purpose.
I picked up a 7600X3D plus B650 MoBo plus 32GB RAM for $400 from a Microcenter yesterday. Kind of a great deal if you’re looking to get into AM5 from the cheap end.

yeah I bought that too, except I kicked the mobo up a notch for $50 because I don’t know why, I want to make sure it lasts through another upgrade cycle in 5 years or whatever

I know it seems like I’m shilling I know I know but that Asus ROG Ally power brick is $20 this time at Best Buy and I cannot recommend it enough as a very portable dock alternative for the Switch and Steam Deck.
I’m…I’m gonna get one more, set it up on the TV downstairs…
Edit: Now it’s sold out…hope some of y’all got one. I keep one hooked up to my bedroom TV (to play my Steam Deck, or hook up my Switch if I’m too lazy to lean a bit more forward and dock it), another hooked up to my PC capture card, got one I need to hook up downstairs and now one…for travel…
$100 version of Suicide Squad is $5 on Xbox digitally for the next week. Conflicted because I love a good deal but Indiana Jones is this weekend and the pre-download is 130 gig. I might buy it just to have it available for later.
Periodic reminder if you have an Amazon Prime account to check out the gaming section. I just claimed a whole bunch of games. They wind up in your GoG and Epic libraries primarily if you link them. Managed to snag a bunch of stuff that was on my steam wish list for no extra out of pocket cost, just now, on my last day of a 1-week trial of Prime for $1.99 that I did to get discounts and free shipping on Black Friday. Not a bad deal. Horrendous news for my backlog though

This is the page to bookmark. I only learned of it recently after having Amazon Prime off and on for years. I’m still somewhat disenchanted with GOG after how they handled that Red Candle Games situation and I still refuse to create an Epic MegaGames account because that would just be too much, but some of the free games are very good ones (such as Monster Train).
Also note that it’s not just the games in the box at the top. There are lots more lower on the page or if you click Free Games.

If you have a Steam Deck there are some roundabout ways to get these installed on there, too. I’ve had better luck with GOG titles than Epic, and because of the way it’s set up it sadly won’t compile shaders like a Steam game will, but it’s still not bad.
Some day I’ll take the time to escape Butcher Bay…and maybe beat Alpha Protocol.

Grandpa’s “probably Game of the Year apart from Dragon Quest 3” is $15 on all platforms as a “deal of the day” today at Best Buy in the US.
It blows that they disbanded the team that made this new Prince of Persia, but the game kicks ass and the DLC is only $5 and hard as hell if you want more.
Can’t recommend it enough.
(It was also a Switch-led development so the game runs great on there, if you wanna have it on the go)

Control is good and cheap and if you’ve redeemed freebies from Amazon Prime or the Epic Game Store you probably already own it.

I got the Metal Gear Collection off GMG for like 32 freedom units.
I’ve been waiting for this to n get to 30 dollars for a year now! I’ve looked nearly every day since release.
