I’m pretty sure you can sign up for one month to get the current deal. I remember them toying with different ways to get people stop only paying for the current month and cancelling right afterwards. I know they now have a “pause membership” button that lets you not get charged for the next month and I guess you can do that indefinitely if you don’t want to outright cancel? From a quick googling I think the only thing you might miss out on is the humble store bonus discounts you get for consecutive month memberships. The longer you’re a Humble Choice subscriber, the greater a discount you get on the humble store. I’ve been subbed for a long time so I get a 20% discount on everything, and I think it stacks or in some ways work in combination with seasonal sale events too? I can’t remember. It makes the store pretty competitive with other sites like Green Man Gaming, and often times make for better buys when Humble runs sales alongside Steam’s summer fest and stuff.
You pretty much immediately start on autobill but even though they charged me for month two they were quick to give me my money back.
Alan Wake 2 deluxe edition, which has both DLCs including the new Control tie-in one, is 10 bucks on Epic (it’s listed as normally being 20)
