It’s like what if the game came out in 2005 and THQ didn’t make them cut stuff out of the game, it’s probably my favorite “normal” stalker mod

Posting just to reminisce about the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. thread where I got in a big fight with former poster guardian/intern because they said unpatched was unplayable and you had to play it with Stalker Complete and I said it was perfectly fine as-is, just set the voice acting to something other than English (although I now love the original English VA, so hey-ho).

The original english va is cool and memorable for a lot of reasons but it’s funny to notice who speaks russian vs ukrainian because all the worst factions speak russian exclusively

even in English and even with cutscenes some of the dialogue is unteanslated I had to watch a couple youtube videos to understand a cutscene and all the campfire dialogue and combat dialogue
this channel has all the ambient dialogue and enemy combat banter. the bandits are assholes and call you slurs, like non stop. it’s neat to look up IMO to get a feel for the different accents and attitudes

Is anyone excited for Stalker 2? I feel like the time for a sequel to be optimistic about has passed so long ago… and after Clear Sky and Call of Pripiyat, I don’t think there ever was an assurance that another sequel would be any good at all.
I haven’t followed any of the media releases around it at all but thought this trailer I just watched was horrible. I’m guessing this was primarily thought of as an Xbox game during development too…

i stopped having expectations for stalker 2 when it got canceled a decade ago, and i don’t appreciate that they showcase that you can murder dogs by kicking them into anomalies

Enemy search: Dogs sniff and listen. They can detect an enemy route by scent. Having found the route, a dog will follow it trying to stay unspotted.

also daphny deserves credit for realizing what they were doing before they read that, when they were playing the first game they were like when i see dogs sniffing in my direction i run and they dont attack me
