I lean like 90% tulpaward in this situation but I still admire the busted POV
it reminds me of Adi’s close reading of MGS4 which I found equivalently undeserved, and which I would gladly watch a movie I actually like instead of, but is in a way beautiful
Oh, I absolutely did feel like it was a directionless asscreed style hodgepodge of assets. I can’t see any narrative to it because each neighborhood is a bunch of empty spaces and lifeless npc husks lightly remixed from every other neighborhood. The biggest variety comes from the badlands area which is just big empty deserts with no meaningful content instead of a big shallow city facade with no meaningful content
picked up a used PS4 copy of this (going for like $25 CAD on eBay right now) so I can play it on my new PS5, play dress up, take mirror selfies, and eventually go try the judy romance quest.
Seems like the consensus is that the ray tracing features are so minor on consoles (it’s just shadows, not reflections??) that there isn’t really a reason to use that mode over the 60fps performance mode. Luckily, you can flip between them at any moment, so if you want to switch to RT/30fps when entering photo mode, you can totally do that.
i’m kind of waiting for a DF video or something on this to see how these updates compare to the PC version. i mean i know they aren’t going to be anywhere as good as the highest graphics settings, but have they mostly fixed the crowds (or lack thereof) and other things that were making the console versions unpleasant/almost impossible to play?
am sort of interested in playing this if i can get it on the cheap
it is pretty staggeringly dull and tonally incoherent, don’t get your hopes up too high
consider it the equivalent of letting someone talk you into going to a restaurant or something that you knew you were gonna hate, tried to find the silver lining of, and wound up hating anyway
