they should be going at least as hard as eternal sonata imo
Iâm ready to be disappointed with how they adapt these characters and make up their own plot threads.
I think it canât exist because the rhythms of the languages are fundamentally different. Dubs run into some of the same problems as poetry translation, another category which famously is always much worse.
The best examples I can think of are videogames like Dark Souls, which is related to how you press A to advance the dialogue in videogames instead of having a carefully paced repartee.
Cowboy bebop? I donât know, the voice acting in netflixvania, like everything else, was bad imo
Mushishi
The french dub of Gurren Lagann was a true labor of love and it showed.
Yu Yu Hakusho
dragon half, excel saga, anything where jessica calvello plays a constantly screaming moron
When he says âSword get longer,â you know he means it.
Itâs not a dub those are their real voices
Iâve never wanted to even try watching this show with subtitles because I love the dub so much.
Ed is better in the Japanese, thatâs a tough one to get just right
Spike is better also, a little more laconic and less gritty badass (I really donât like Steve Blum, he irritates me)
But dub Jet is the best
Meanwhile I wouldnât mind if Steve Blum narrated my day
Blumâs Spike is so aggravating to me
for a second i thought hom-hom was holding the sickest mace ever but then i noticed its just a weird spinal cord dial phone
I wouldnât have realized that was what it was if you said it, thatâs pretty sweet
