I was not expecting so many bestiality jokes right away in Kuma Miko but there they were. And then the bear nonchalantly says it’s all okay because he’s neutered.
Episode 2 of Luluco has Luluco realizing she’s in love, then turning into a gun again and firing off a giant shot of JUSTICE
There’s only but so many ways I can read that
I’ll never get tired of hearing “FIGHT FOR JUSTICE! JUSTICE JUSTICE!”
You guys remember that show about the two aliens who can feel each other’s pain? Kiznaiver is like that, but in high school anime form
If only it were a comedy…
Seriously, the fact that Trigger is channeling a crappy 90s syndicated comedy makes this show of the season
I love the OP, but otherwise it doesn’t seem to be my thing, for now the trigger show I’m paying attention to is clearly Luluco. There is, however, supposed to be a paradigm shift a few episodes in if the net is to be believed so I’m willing to revise my opinion later.
I haven’t seen everything yet but I’m pretty sure Flying Witch is one of the best shows this season on the basis of the screaming mandrake
Caught April and the Extraordinary World (that’s what Gkids is calling it over here, but they properly translated the title as April and the Twisted World in the subtitles and I’m also pretty sure “merde” doesn’t mean “Dang it” but I’ll let that slide) last night. Fantastic movie, like a literal animated Euro comic, fun story and great acting. Really, I’m just glad those crazy French are content to keep making awesome 2D films.
I literally only saw a poster for this. So it isn’t generic moé trash?
It’s not really a moe thing, no. Definitely slow-paced and relaxed (I think the popular otaku slang is “healing”) but the little girl character is an actual little girl, and I’m pretty sure they’re not trying to creep on her. Probably.
Lingering slow pan over butt
I saw that too, but I was really hoping I was imagining it.
I’m more concerned about characterization: any of the lady characters fit the ‘helpless waif’ stereotype? If not, I can probably watch it without my shame gland producing shame.
I think the closest you’re going to get is the protagonist is a bit of an air head in practical matters, but she’s also a witch, so
Yoooo this Re:Zero show is pretty good, it’s like Groundhog’s Day + your standard “Japanese kid gets transported to fantasy land”. Protagonist has already gotten iced twice by the same person.
I had like zero (pun not intended) expectations for this show and now I’m kinda hooked :3
Sort of blown away by how fast Groundhog Day But In A Fantasy/Sci-Fi Videogame World became such a well-worn and tedious subgenre
Surprised it didn’t take off more in games despite being such an obvious fit. i can only think of Majora’s Mask, Grim Grimoire and that one PS2 launch title i never played and can’t remember the name of.
Ephemeral Fantasia?
That’s the one.
gods that game looks ugly. Like Quest 64 crashed into a Tales of X and there were no survivors.
Has it? I can only think of three things in the past few years pulling that unless you talking about a handful of manga and/or light novels that haven’t managed to rise up and get more visible adaptions.
At least Re: Zero isn’t basing it’s world on gamified tropes like actual in universe EXP and Skills and Feats with conveniently obtuse triggers. I at least enjoy the MC’s interactions with other characters for not being a complete anime idiot or having some kind of personality with a ‘hook’ so to speak.
oh god that screenshot
from what my memory tells me, EF’s a pretty interesting piece of maybe-kusoge, so I’m honor bound to eventually return to it. it’s more obtuse than majora, but also includes things like a guitar-playing minigame, and suikoden-style recruitment?
Twelve Minutes is the only other one i can think of right now. i really like the conceit of “One City Block + Aggressive Time Limit” to create the smallest scope possible, and wonder what kinds of details and modes of interaction you could fit in that you couldn’t otherwise
