Wow I love this.

Is there no stamina/Ki bar for attacking? Gonna feel weird playin a nioh without smashing that ki pulse after every combo

I think it’s literally just a big ‘poise’ bar at the bottom that staggers you when emptied.

yeah i thought the chaos memes got old after five minutes but the more i see of this ridiculous thing i can’t help but look forward to it

while initially turned off by this game, this trailer kind of seals the deal for me? it doesn’t look as incongruent and weird as it used to, the dub is actually not garbage, and i kind of want to play this now?

who would’ve thought

Pre-ordered from Gamestop, hopefully I get that hat lol

everything i’ve seen about this game makes it seem like it’s set in the Carbon Monoxide Leak Extended Universe and i have to admit that that’s a wonderful concept for an FF game

the game feels FFXIV adjacent in this way that’s hard to pin down. i know someone mentioned that they’re reusing some assets, but it’s not just that (there also seems to be some allusion to the different (14) dimensions established in FFXIV’s storyline).

i almost half expect the game’s story to reveal that these characters are actually FFXIV players who got isekai’d into the FF universe or something along those lines. it’s probably not that, though.

anyway, that’s a long way of saying this game feels made for FF fans exclusively. i guess if you like Team Ninja it will scratch that itch, too, but overall, if FF runs inside your bloodstream due to sheer exposure to the series over a series of decades, then i think it’ll be a good time.

there seems to be absolutely no reason to upgrade weapons in the early game, that i can see. i maxed out the strength on an item and ended up getting a better item about 5 minutes later; not really worth wasting the semi-valuable resources i spent.

i had to switch the dodge roll to the same button as Elden Ring’s because i’m playing these both back to back every night and it was going to drive me insane.

also Jack et al mention Chaos more in Japanese than they do in English, funnily enough

example upon coming to a boss in the forest:

JP - “is this Chaos?!”

ENG - “What is this?!” or something like that

so i enjoy the idea that this team just thinks everything they see that’s new to them might be Chaos

this seems to be happening an awful lot lately!
