Once you figure out the charge move the wizzrobes and darknuts become less of a threat, so enjoy the challenge while it lasts.

alright I’ve made some solid progress in level 6, but the biggest push of progress happened when I had the magic shield and potions. now I have neither, so…I’m just sorta poking around in it, grinding rupees while trying to get used to dealing with blue wizzrobes. will reacquire shield when I can afford it.

oldhead in the dungeon said (translated) that the abandoned fairy fountain has a secret. i can’t remember if I already found the secret, but I’m p sure the fairy fountain he’s talking about is up in the mountains around the northwest of the map. i know I’ve been there before.

this game is overwhelming and makes me feel lost and alone and it’s so cool!

and the best part of this is my memory is so bad I can play this again in two years and have the same experience

also the kansai-ben and old-people speak in this game is wreaking havoc on my ability to understand the text

Man, the Japanese text is in Kansai-ben? That’s so cool.

Wow, I wish that hint existed in the english version. I wonder what other hints are missing / mistranslated that are way more helpful in the Japanese version.

EDIT: Ok, I guess it’s sort of there in English, but it’s way less helpful. Found an article that goes through all of them.

If you think this is bad, then you’ll never be ready for the THIRD quest!

saved up enough to get another magic shield, and it got eaten by the first like like I encountered in the dungeon :sadpig:

I’m over 100 deaths on my file. i feel like I’m doing something wrong? the movement of the blue wizzrobes is so erratic to me that they consistently kick my ass time and time again. I’ve figured out the ideal path through the dungeon to the staircase to the second half of the dungeon, and I’ve learned which rooms stay despawned and which ones I should leave one enemy alive in to make it easier for me – but even with two potions I can’t consistently make it to the staircase, much less explore the rest of the dungeon on the other side.

I’ve got grey armor on link, the blue ring, the white sword, and 12 hearts. are there any upgrades I can get right now that will make things easier on me? i would just check a guide but it kinda defeats the purpose of this thread

I’ve been stuck on dungeon 6 for a month lol

If you’ve got 12 hearts, I think you’re ready for a new sword. There’s one very close.

You could get the flame wand. I think it is in 7.

100 deaths is not bad for a blind zelda run. the game is brutal without foreknowledge. it was really designed to be played with the players guide that was released concurrently with it.

You won’t get the see the true ending now though.

in the true ending you finally get to see your son again IRL

I remember being really confused by that ending as a kid

I was all like, “Who’s this kid?? Why he’s getting in between me 'n Zelda? Why’s the Triforce going to him instead??” Really wanted to hit him with the sword

I heard there was a fanhack a long time ago that let you kill him. Wish they’d hack Duck Hunt to let you kill that dog too

Doing the Gannon fight for the first time in 2016 must be weird. Was blindly stabbing until you hit an invisible guy obvious on your first go?
